BOOK REVIEW...The Demon's Song by Kendra Leigh Castle

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. At least, that's how it seems to Sofia Rivera when her attempt to help a friend ends in a blood-soaked confrontation with creatures that aren't even supposed to exist. With a group of rogue vampires determined not to leave a single witness to their violence hot on her heels, Sofia finds herself saddled with an immortal bodyguard—Phenex, the fallen Angel of Song.

While the vampire king roots out the corruption threatening to take down his underworld kingdom, Sofia will have to deal with a fallen angel whose dark beauty is often at odds with his ornery nature. Slowly, Sofia and Phenex give in to the strange attraction neither can deny. And as the darkness closes in around them, Phenex begins to wonder whether even the wickedest Fallen might find his own happy ending...and his heart.

I received this reading copy via NetGallery for an honest review.

"The Demon's Song" was a likable read in which I found myself "mooning" after the main male character,Phenex, and attaching myself to the main female lead, Tera.

Phenex is a fallen angel whom along with several of his men was cast out of Hell. He meets feisty human nurse Tera after she finds herself in a pickle with some vampires and thus becomes her protector from the supernatural mayhem that unfolds within the story.

Only thing is, when feelings come into the mix between Phenex and Tera how will their love unfold?

MY THOUGHTS...
This book has everything from taboo romance, angst, and violence.

Phenex's character changes A LOT throughout the story after he meets Tera and is no longer just this standoffish, unfeeling, and "just existing" type of personna. He now has something and SOMEONE to live for.

I really loved Tera's fiery "I can take care of myself" type of attitude and how she would often interact with Phenex. She was definitely no damsel in distress type of character even though she did need assistance at times from Phenex.

SO Over all, I'm curious as to where Castle takes the next book in this series.

My Rating:

-Overall : 7
-Plot : 7
-Writing : 8
-Characters : 8
-Cover : 7
