From the Best-Selling Author of The Forever Series comes the second addition to the Love Me Series: Play Me!

Excerpt:
My fingers curl around the knob and I open it an inch. A soft sigh escapes my lips. Weston. “What are you doin’ here?”
Weston runs his fingers through his hair and kicks the door open with his good foot. Both arms cross over his chest as he leans against the doorjamb. “That depends on if you let me in or not.”
Why is he here? Heat swarms my cheeks remembering everything we just done in that bathroom. Could he embarrass me anymore? “Why would I let you inside? It’s in the middle of the night.” I give him a good once over. “And you’re drunk.”
He reaches down and digs into his front pocket. He pulls out my cellphone and dangles it in front of my face by two fingers. “This is the reason you’d let me inside.”
What? I slap my palms against my pajama shorts and realize I really don’t have my phone. Dammit. Weston hums underneath his breath as he brings my phone closer to his face. “Looks like someone has a new text message.”
     “Give it back, Weston.”
The edge of his mouth pulls up slightly. “Let me inside and I will.”
“Why? What’s in here that isn’t out there?”
Something passes over his face that I can’t pinpoint. “Let me inside, Roxanne.”
I felt that in-between my legs. That word slipping from that mouth is more than I can take. Keeping my eyes on his, I take a step backwards while opening the door wider for him. Something appetizingly wicked heats in those brown eyes.
With the help of one crutch, he wobbles forward. I watch as he shuts the door and locks it behind him. His gaze rolls over my small apartment and then back to me.
Taking his bottom lip in-between his teeth he places one arm against the wall. “Is he here?”
What? Who? Leaning closer he presses his cheek against my own. “Is he here?”
   “Is who here?”
A stern grip cups my hip and guides me until I’m pressed against the wall. A strong wisp of alcohol heats my face. He’s definitely been drinking but for some reason he doesn’t seem too drunk. “Don’t play with me,” he whispers against my mouth. Is Blake here?”
Blake? Why would Blake be here? “Weston you’re clearly drunk–“
A groan slips from his clenched teeth and he presses his hand tighter around my hip. “Is he here?”
There is a demanding tone in his voice that makes a side of me quiver. “No.”
Ten rough fingers grip the nape of my neck and force my mouth upward. “Was he here?”
My thighs turn to goop. If he wasn’t pressing himself against me I’d probably fall. “No,” I whimper out.
Lowering his mouth to my ear, he breathes in. “Did he kiss you?”
I bite my lip and close my eyes. I’m burning up … everywhere. A hard weight is pressing against my lower stomach and it is slowly eating me alive. I don’t lie. And it’s mostly because I want to see his reaction. This aggressiveness is searing underneath my skin. I want it.  “Yes, what’s it to you?”
There is a few short moments of silence. All I hear is his harsh breathing against my ear. Then he laughs. It’s a low chuckle that sets that fire ablaze inside of me. The hand on my hip lowers to cup my ass and the other slides up my throat to gently grip my neck. “You like him, Roxanne? You like the way he talks to you? The way he touches you?”
Anger rushes my throat and a painful lump beings to grow. Tilting my chin upward, I stare up at him. Those brown eyes bore into me and then lowering toward my lips. “Yes.”
Something wild darkens his eyes. He laughs beneath his breathe and presses the palm of his thumb against my bottom lip. “Does he touch you like this?” he whispers against my mouth. He squeezes my ass and presses me harder into him. And I feel exactly how excited he is pressed firmly against my stomach.
The truth is no one has ever made me feel this alive. Hormones that I haven’t felt in years are raging inside of me. “Answer me,” he hisses through his teeth.
   No, he doesn’t.
Weston’s teeth grazes my bottom lip before he gently bites down. All my fingers clench into his biceps. “You’re drunk,” I whisper.
I can feel his growl surge through me. “Does it look like I’m fuckin’ drunk, Roxanne. Stop avoiding the goddamn question. Let me fuckin’ have you.”
Let me fuckin’ have you. Grabbing my back he pulls me closer so he can bury his face into my neck. My core is throbbing. I need this release. I need this friction.
   “No, he doesn’t,” I whisper.
Weston squeezes me tighter and brings his lips to mine. “I didn’t think so.”
He watches me through hooded eyes while he drags the tip of his finger to the drop in the front of my shirt. Arching my back, I press my chest against him. My tender nipples rub against his hard chest and it makes my head dizzy. “I’m goin’ to show you how you’re supposed to feel when you kiss.”
God, I can’t think straight. Every atom in me is driving me toward him. Begging me to strip him out of those clothes and let him have his way with me. But everything is spinning in my mind. Ryan and Maddox. Weston’s reputation. One night wouldn’t hurt though, right? Just one night. But would one night be enough? Weston’s lips are hovering over mine as if he’s waiting on me to kiss him. To make the first move. I can already tell that there is no way one night will be enough. Those large hands. That full mouth. Tattoos and muscles. Can anyone say no to him?

Blog Tour Stop!- Hemphill Towers by Leona Pence

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Title:  Hemphill Towers
Author:  Leona Pence
Publication Date: October 25th 2013 by MuseItUp Publishing (first published October 23rd 2013)
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:   Riley Saunders has her dream job. As an art director at a leading advertising agency, she works every day with her two best friends, Stella and Birdie. All three have been assigned to ensure that the Grand Opening of the Peterson Art Museum is nothing short of a success.

When a girl’s night out at a hot new Italian restaurant ends with a spilled bottle of wine, it sets in motion a series of events that leaves Stella and Birdie caught up in whirlwind romances, and Riley fearing for her life at the hands of a deranged stalker. But, when the handsome museum curator, Trent Peterson, learns of her situation, he vows to keep her safe.

In a quick-paced tale of fine art, wine forgery, and the Russian Mafia, Riley and her friends soon discover their pursuit of love will require them to expose a crime, thwart a murder, and trust the one thing that has never failed them…their friendship.

EXCERPT:

A little later, Stella put down her fork unable to eat another bite. She was
listening to JB tell Federico a story about his latest fishing trip. JB raised his arm in
a mock casting of a line, and in doing so, hit the wine bottle with his arm causing it
to strike Stella's full glass. The contents of both poured all over the front of her
clothes.

Stella gasped when the chilled liquid came in contact with her body, soaking
through her white blouse and bra. JB jumped up, grabbed a cloth napkin and began
dabbing at the rapidly spreading red stain. Then the inevitable happened. First one
button then another popped from her blouse and landed in the middle of the table.
JB stood dumbfounded, staring at the lacy exposed bra. Stella snatched the
napkin from his hand and covered herself. Her face was much redder than the
spilled wine. Riley could no longer contain her laughter and was soon joined by
Birdie. Stella looked at them and then at the stricken face of JB Edwards; she
began to laugh herself. Tears ran down their cheeks. JB sat back down, relieved

there would be no repercussions from his gaffe.

MY REVIEW:

Hemphill Towers really took me surprise. I honestly wasn’t expecting much since this is an unknown author to me but I decided to take a chance on her anyway since her book was offered to me free by participating on her blog tour. And boy was I glad I took it!!

This book kept me actively interested and engaged. I didn’t know that a book of unfamiliarity could take me from left field and captivate me so thoroughly!

From a one-sided romance whirl winding into a passionate romance fulfilled intrigue, suspense, and a thrill of danger. This book has it all!

I really liked the set up of the characters and couplings that Leona has set for us and how they mesh so well with one another and have such great camaraderie!

From just a spilled glass of wine, this sets in action a shuffle of events and romances that have the characters clinging together to stay alive and solve the mysteries have them on the run from crime, forgery, the Russian mafia, and even a deranged stalker!

A very well written story that I highly recommend! I definitely will be on the lookout for more from this author for sure!!

Blog Tour Stop and Giveaway!- Coming Home by Priscilla Glenn

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Adult Contemporary Romance
Released January 21, 2014

Title:  Coming Home
Author:  Priscilla Glenn
Publication Date: January 21st 2014
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:   Leah Marino hasn’t been on a date in two years. After discovering the man she loved had manipulated and deceived her, she refuses to even entertain the idea of a relationship. Instead, she focuses her attention on taking care of her family, a role she’s assumed since the death of her mother and the one place she knows her kindness won't be taken advantage of again.

When a nostalgic trip back to her childhood home results in a chance encounter with Danny DeLuca, a smart-mouthed mechanic who’s as attractive as he is mysterious, Leah's carefully cultivated walls begin to crumble. She finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Danny, despite his unreliable behavior and mixed signals.

But Danny has a secret...

One that could shake Leah's already precarious foundation and bring her world crashing down around her. Suddenly, she's faced with an incredibly difficult decision--is she willing to risk everything for the chance at finding the love she's always wanted? Or are some obstacles just too big for the heart to overcome?

MY REVIEW:

Coming Home is a very sweet romance that depicts two very different individuals who are given a rough set of cards.

Leah, is still reeling from a heartbreaking betrayal and the loss of her mother. She basically mothers her younger brother while contributing to him and her father but things are still hard for her.

Danny, on the other hand, is a mysterious mechanic facing the harsher reality of the consequences of his actions stemming from one drunken night at the bar.

When he meets Leah at his grandmother’s while she is revisiting her childhood home sparks fly and the two feel their lives forever change.

But with Danny’s secret in the way and which could ultimately shift and destroy their relationship altogether. How will things all work out? What could his secret be? And will Leah stand by Danny in the end?

So, my verdict?: A very nice introduction for me into the world of Priscilla Glenn although it was more of just an okay read for me.

I do, however, believe that all of you hopeless romantics will fall in love with this book so seriously don't mind me. I mainly deducted from this story for the slow story pacing when I really wanted it to move a little faster.

Anyways, with that said, I still hope to read more in the future from this author and will perhaps backtrack and read her older works. :)

Title:  Captive (Fire on Ice #2)

Plot:   Two years ago, Jason and Kate Ryker were brought together by grief and bound to one another by love. Now married, they’re confronting their fears together.

MY REVIEW:

Ooh!! Brenda, you have made my day!! I LOVE LOVED this book!! I had been anxiously waiting for a sequel and you made my wish come true!!

Captive, takes place after Bound and continues the love story of Jason and Kate. Now married, the Rykers now find themselves amidst another devastating loss as well as new trials and challenges that will test their love and faith in one another.

I swear I just LOVED every minute of it!!

An over all, captivating and beautifully done book that initially caught my attention (and won over my heart) with its kindred tragic theme that inspired the series’ background and that I can relate to!!

I now ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT for the next book in the series, Edge , which focuses on Jason’s bestie, Luke’s story!! Yay!! I'm so excited!!

Blog Tour Stop!- Wish for You (Boys of the South #4) by Marquita Valentine

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

WISH FOR YOU
By Bestselling Author Marquita Valentine

A Boys of the South Novel
Released January 20, 2014
New Adult Contemporary

Title:  Wish for You (Boys of the South #4)
Author:  Marquita Valentine
Publication Date: January 2014
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:   There’s only one place in the world where I feel normal—the roller derby track. When I put on my skates and fasten my helmet, I’m powerful and in charge. I know exactly what to do and what to say. The rules are clear and everyone does exactly what they’re supposed to, penalties are enforced for those who don’t.
But in the real world, I’m far from powerful and in charge. I never know exactly what to do and say.

For years, I counted on one person to be exactly who he said he was—my best friend -Wyatt Tanaka.

Only he's changed. Being a Marine and serving in a war has made him different. Now I want to help him, but I also want to kiss him. And that’s not something best friends do.
Neither of us, it seems, is content being just friends anymore.

If we cross that line, change the rules of our relationship, it could be wonderful and everything I've ever wanted. But it might also mean I'll lose the one person I've come to rely on and I don't think my heart can take it.

MY REVIEW:

A late comer into the Boys of the South series, I liked this installment in my own way.

Albeit, I did have some mixed feelings over it, especially with Wyatt, but over all it was a good read. Just keep in mind that after returning home from the military that Wyatt is in a really fragile state of mind so he’s emotionally unstable and makes some bonehead and irrational decisions while trying to get by and make himself feel something.

I won’t lie and say that I always agreed with him or that it was easy to digest but I get it. Returning from something so haggard and ugly can make you overly sensitive and affect your outlook and coping mechanisms when coming home and adjusting to civilian life.

*HOWEVER, ON ANOTHER NOTE...I do have to admit at the time, that while it was hard for him, I still wish Wyatt was a bit less cowardly and faced his demons on head on instead of drowning in them. Man up, ya know? ;)*

As for Lacey,  our derby girl...well, I thought she was a strong female heroine. I know that she is broken in her own way so I always felt for her whenever tough decisions lay in her way but I’m glad that she had a persevering type of personality that kept on fighting on no matter what.

So… all in all, a frustrating read at times, but worth the endurance! I look forward to more of Marquita Valentine’s books!

eARC BOOK REVIEW...Underworld Champions (The MC Outlaw Series #1) by Ella Stone

Title:  Underworld Champions (The MC Outlaw Series #1)
Author:  Ella Stone
Publication Date: January 23rd 2014
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:   ***CONTENT WARNING*** This book is NOT suitable for under 18s due to a ridiculous amount of sexual situations that just aren't cool to replicate if you're under age.

A Contemporary biker romance.

Maddie's life has always been hard. With an absent mother and a father who is beyond help. She's all on her own.

When her father carks it, she has no money, and some jerk with bad breath is always hovering around her to take advantage.

So she goes to the one person who owes her a favour - her mother. She's married to the president of the MC Outlaws. That's a motorcycle club. Maddie's never really been into that shit, but she doesn't have a choice. And surprisingly, she's going to come to rely on the Outlaws more than she ever expected.

Cole is one of those jackass guys who girls should keep away from at all costs. But he's hot, and Maddie finds she can't help herself. He's the club's VP, and so goddamned hot, he'd melt the panties off a nun.

She should run, she should stay as far away from her past as she can, but instead, she keeps running to that sexy biker, Cole.

Cole understands Maddie, you see - he's damaged too. Can these two tortured souls find a way to heal each other. Will Cole be her Champion?

MY REVIEW:

To be honest, this book just didn't work for me. The writing in the beginning was super choppy for me and the story itself (including the sex scenes) just didn't sell me.

description

I normally have more to elaborate on as to why it didn't click for me but I can't even answer that myself. I just don't know.

description

*On a side note though, those of you not familiar with Lili St. Germain's Gypsy Brothers Series better get themselves acquainted!! They make an appearance in here as the rival gang to the Outlaws MC! They cause A LOT of trouble here. :)

Anyways, a lovely debut from Ella Stone but sadly did not hit my sweet spot for MC bikermen. I'm sorry! :'(

eARC BOOK REVIEW...Inner Core (Stark, #2) by Sigal Ehrlich

Title:  Inner Core (Stark, #2)
Author:  Sigal Ehrlich
Publication Date: January 31st 2014 by Sigal Ehrlich
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:   When Hayley makes a resolution to take back the control over her life, and declare their relationship R.I.P, it’s all good in theory…

That is until Daniel decides to prove her wrong and get her back.

Together, Hayley and Daniel seem to have it all. But can love ever be enough when two strong personalities collide and while reality takes the lead?

Faced with more obstacles than she could have ever bargain for when it comes to Daniel, struggling to keep her own identity while sharing a life with her man. Buds of doubt start rooting in Hayley’s confidence, making her rethink her decision.

And just when it seems that they might make it together after all, life happens. Bringing a threat that neither Hayley nor Daniel could ever anticipate, a threat that could break them apart forever . . .

MY REVIEW:
“Let me ask you something,” he says, rewarding me with his utmost bad boy glance. “You sure you want to tame me?”

Why yes, Daniel, I do!! *wink wink* After all, I am...

description

LOL!

Anyway, on to my review!

So, Sigal my kindred spirit lovey, you’ve outdone yourself in this one!! I freaking loved Inner Core!!

It was engaging, intriguing, and totally captures your attention!

I was literally reeling with the ending of LAYERS since it ended up in heartbreak but I was glad that we got to see our favorite couple working out the kinks and trying to work things out.

It’s not easy of course, as both Daniel and Hayley have many issues that they need to get through. BUT... just as I thought things were starting to settle down even more roadblocks and unimaginable obscurities weave their path into the story.

Sheesh, these characters have identity and trust issues but I’m also glad that there is a focal on that. Often at times, I feel in reads that characters’ lose themselves in relationships or during the whole story in general so I was glad that in some way that they not only got to establish a more sense of self in themselves but also get to preserve the same sense of caliber that they started out with.

I was also happy to see my favorite trio again, Haytashan (Hayley/Tasha/Ian), again!! Ahh, good times them!! They always manage to make me smile!

An awesome awesome story that is so delectable in its own way and even demonstrates that imperfect romances can have their HEA’s too!!

Absolutely loved it and this quote!: “I promise I will always love u, even when you forget to love yourself.” - Hayley to Daniel. AWW!!

MY REVIEW:

description

Unraveled was a likable sexy read but for some reason I just didn’t love it. I mean, I liked it, hence the 3 stars, but there was something about it that held back potential for more star earning.

As a personal fan of this series, I was super excited for Gray’s story after remembering him from Bo’s book, Unspoken. I’ve always liked books with military themes but for some reason between the writing and the characters it kind of fell short for me.

I think what tipped it for me was the fact that Gray seemed easily persuaded or influenced. You can tell that he loves the allegiance and brotherhood that the military gives you but you can also see that deep down he’s at this point where he's already done his time and is debating a new direction in life.

As for Sam, well, she’s the widower of a fallen soldier. Enough said.

With Sam, it’s the 50/50 chance that tragedy may strike twice for her and once again take away the life of the man she loves. But then again, that's the bargain you take in love and war. Is she willing to open up her heart and risk it again?

A very sweet and steamy romance that was just okay in my book. I hope the next installment will be on Tucker or Hamilton!!

Blurb:
Whore. Slut. Typhoid Mary.
I've been called all these at Central College. One drunken night, one act of irresponsible behavior, and my reputation was ruined. Guys labeled me as easy and girls shied away. To cope, I stayed away from Central social life and away from Central men, so why is it that my new biology lab partner is so irresistible to me?

He's everything I shouldn't want. A former Marine involved in illegal fighting with a quick trigger temper and an easy smile for all the women. His fists aren't the danger to me, though, it's his charm. He's sliding his way into my heart and I'm afraid that he's going to be the one to break me.

Impulsive. Unthinking. Hot tempered.
I allow instinct to rule my behavior. If it feels good, do it, has been my motto because if I spend too much time thinking, I'll begin to remember exactly where I came from. At Central College, I've got fighting and I've got women and I thought I was satisfied until I met her.

She's everything I didn't realize I wanted and the more time I spend with her, the more I want her. But she's been hurt too much in the past and I don't want to be the one to break her. I know I should walk away, but I just can't.

Bonus Content: Upon reaching the USA Today Bestselling milestone, I wrote a 10,000 word epilogue as a thank you to the readers who loved and supported Unspoken.  I posted it for free on my blog but at the urging of readers, I have added it to the original version.

Note: This is a New Adult Contemporary Romance with mature content and sexually explicit scenes. 91,000+ words. Standalone novel.
