BOOK REVIEW...Remy (Real #3) by Katy Evans

Title:  Remy (Real #3)
Author:  Katy Evans
Publication Date: November 26th 2013 by Gallery Books
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.

Through it all, there's been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he's ever had to fight for.

MY REVIEW:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“I feel so fucking possessive, I don’t let her go of her. I want every man looking in her direction to know this one’s fucking MINE. “

I was already in love with the first book in the series, REAL, but I wasn’t a big fan of MINE solely because of Brooke, its redundancy, and not much substantial story plot.

I’m proud to say that I actually really liked REMY! Reason being: REMINGTON TATE!!

"I don’t want her to look at anyone but me. I want her to see I’m the strongest, the fastest. Hell, as far as I know, I want her to think I’m the only man in the whole world.”

description

description

description

Keep in mind that REMY is told from Remy’s eyes and no longer Brooke’s and it tends to dive in and out of the past and present. It also gives light of what MINE doesn’t and goes a little beyond that story. Well, just a tad. Don’t expect a whole lot of extras since you really just see the wedding and baby Racer is all.

My ONLY COMPLAINT though from this book is the over use of the phrases, “She is MINE,” “I want to scent her,” and “I want to claim her.” Yeah, I get that Remy is an alpha possessive heathen but he doesn’t sound too bright in the head if that’s all that goes through it 24/7.

description

*sighs*

Other than that, I admired the fight and tenacity in him since everyday of his life is a struggle but he tries his best the make the most of it. Even more so, with Brooke in the picture. She is his light in the tunnel of darkness…she is his REAL…

“I’ve fought all my life to stay sane. To keep focused, driven, and centered. But tonight, I fight to show one woman my worth.”

I’m a bit sad that it’s all over, well for Remy and Brooke anyway, but at least we can still get some sneak peaks of them in the next two books even if they may not be the main characters anymore.

I know that RIPPED (book 4) will be on Brooke’s gothic friend Pandora and then last but not least RAW, the final book, will be on Brooke’s bestie Mel.

Buahahaha! Looks like Nora, Brooke’s sister, isn’t getting a story! She was a real airhead to be honest! Oh well!...

SO LONG FOR NOW “Brem” fans!

Burdened with grief, Valencia must carve her own path forward. From the forge of chaos, a new era will be born.

MY REVIEW:

“Jaded Stone” was a lovely read. I had been offered it by Kelly’s publicist and jumped at the chance since I am a steadfast follower of this series.

description

I was immediately entranced with the setting and characterization of Valencia. She goes through a lot of heavy decision making not only for herself but for others as well and it just showed her strength and determination to secure her and her people’s future.

There’s also an element of romance in this book in which I always love in books so I was a happy girl! Hehe. ;)

But with a new threat on the line how will things pan out?

A truly magical prequel to the "Souls of Stones" series!

eARC Book Review...The Boy From The Woods by Jen Minkman

Title:  The Boy From The Woods
Author:  Jen Minkman
Publication Date: December 1st 2013
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  Julia fell down on her knees next to his lifeless body, her heart filling with dread as she noticed the left side of his face was covered in blood. He had fallen off the motorbike, hitting his temple on a sharp-edged rock. His head injury looked really, really bad.
“Michael?” she whispered softly, putting a trembling hand on his forehead. “Can you hear me?”

Julia has been in love with Michael for years. He’s the hottest guy in school, and she can’t believe her luck when they finally hit it off during Senior Prom. Her dream doesn’t last, though: after a few dates, he callously dumps her out of the blue. Summer vacation starts with Julia feeling heart-broken and miserable.
But then she rescues Michael in the woods when he has a motorcycle accident in a heavy thunderstorm. From that point onward, her life is turned upside down. Michael has changed completely after the blow to the head that nearly killed him... and he wants her back. But why is he so different? And will she be able to trust him this time around?

Can the boy who broke your heart ever win it back again..?

MY REVIEW:

description

The good: Interesting and engrossing plot and story line. Intriguing characters. Had an element of suspense and a couple of parts where I literally had tears in my eyes.

The bad: Other than Jen Minkman made me cry a couple of times?! Especially at the finale?! Then no!

My thoughts: Normally, in these types of reads I tend to see and calculate the typical NA and CA elements that I see in books BUT... “The Boy in the Woods,” however, took a completely different approach that I could have ever imagined it to have taken.

Being my first Jen Minkman read (so YAY!), I was totally impressed with her authorship and originality when it came to the characters and the story line.

At first I literally hated the male protagonist, Michael’s, guts but as the story progressed on, he won me over. I still had my doubts about him after the accident but I will not go into my analysis about him since it might give out spoilers regarding the outcome of the ending.

As for Julia, well, I truly admired her. She was straightforward, honest, caring, and hard working. How awesome is that in a female protagonist?! I love that!

SO OVER ALL:  Such a beautiful and touching story!!

There were a couple of twists and turns embedded into the story as well as a part where I was a little taken aback. I mean, I see how it works but, ‘wow.’

I have to say that I was completely won over with Jen Minkman and now am a fan of hers. I had marked this book to be on my TBR shelf and wishlist and even entered the giveaway contest and the next thing I know is that I have a message from Jen herself asking if I would review her book. I was like, “free book?, interesting story?, and I get to read it before everyone else?” Then, hells to the YES!!

Thank you Jen for providing me with an ARC! I truly loved and devoured every minute of it!

Blog Tour Stop!- Fighting to Forgive (Fighting, #2) by J.B. Salsbury

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Title:  Fighting to Forgive (Fighting, #2)
Author:  J.B. Salsbury
Publication Date: November 19th 2013 by JB Salsbury LLC
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  What do you do when everything you avoid, turns out to be exactly what you need?

Easy and predictable, just the way he likes it, Blake Daniels flies through life the way he burns through women: on his terms, no regrets.

With his fighting career in full swing, he's on the threshold of title contention. But when his training is compromised by injury, the stakes grow impossibly higher. The rage that fuels his punches also chips away at his focus, and he risks losing everything he cares about.

He won’t let that happen. Not again.

Layla’s through with men. After a marriage that never should’ve happened, she hopes to reclaim the pieces of the woman she lost years ago.

Emotional abuse has left her insecure and terrified. A master at faking what she’s not feeling, she masks her self-doubt in false confidence.

She’ll never let another man hurt her. Not again.

Chased by shadows of the past, Blake and Layla know what they don’t want, but their hearts have a different plan. As a web of lies and betrayal threatens to destroy them, they’re forced to make a choice.

Is love enough to heal even the deepest wounds?

Or will they be left Fighting to Forgive?

MY REVIEW:

“Mouse… I love you. I’ve never loved anyone in my entire life. And then you come along, and… my music, my fighting? None of it means anything without you. My life means nothing without you.”

The good: Very well-written and crafted !! It has a solid and refreshing plot line; as well as great story elements and likable characters.
The bad: Nothing constructive to embellish on.

•.¸. ♥★

The characters:

description

Blake “The Snake” Daniels: “Some women call me fine, I prefer handsome. Sexy works too, or you can call me Blake.”

6’2”, Buzzed light brown hair, and green eyes. Is a top UFL fighter. Has a large tattoo that covers part of his left pec and bleeds down to his ribs. Also possesses a mysterious room in his condo and a secret unbeknownst to others.
Is taken with Layla and her defiant yet feisty personality; she’s different from other girls and doesn’t take Blake’s sh*t. Nicknames and calls Layla “Mouse.”

description

Layla Moorehead: 5’3”, sunshine blonde hair, has “sultry and exotic” dark chocolate eyes. Ran away from abusive husband with her teenage daughter. Wants to start a new chapter in Vegas but meets Blake. Is everything Blake claimed he didn’t want in a female.

•.¸. ♥★

My thoughts:
Remember this quote from Fighting For Flight when Blake proclaimed,

"Remind me when I decide to settle down to find a girl without baggage. Preferably one with no family. No kids, ex-husbands, pyscho dads, fucking skeletons in the closet. None of that shit. I'd rather stay single my entire life, banging anyone who can keep up, than take on some chick with issues. You can tattoo that on my ass if you don't believe me."

Well readers, he definitely ate his words in “Fighting to Forgive”!

I am very impressed with how “Fighting to Forgive” panned out. At first, going into it, I was a bit skeptical since I had loved Jonah’s story so much (“Fighting For Flight”) but Blake’s one was a pleasant surprise.

Blake, like Jonah, started out as a man whore of endless one night stands. He meets Layla when she takes a position at the training facility for UFL fighters and their worlds are forever turned upside down.

Layla, is like no woman Blake and ever met and literally shakes all of his pre-conceived thoughts of women stemming from his own personal feelings towards his mother:

“ Her story laughs in the face of my preconceived ideas of women. She didn’t show weakness, but immense strength. She wasn’t selfish, but gave up her comforts for another.
Layla chose the fight, the struggle, and the sacrifice.”

As for Layla, Blake isn’t the man she thought him to be. After leaving her abusive husband of over sixteen years, when she meets Blake she immediately labels him as a player and another person who could possibly break her even more.

But of course, since this is their love story, and our male heroine is a steam roller, he breaks through her barriers…it’s just a matter of time!…

•.¸. ♥★

Over all though, what stood out for me is how both characters brought out each other’s demons and insecurities to the surface. Both feed equally off each other’s strengths and weaknesses beautifully and it’s interesting to see the fight they bring each other to face their own personal wars head on.

"Si vis pacem, para bellum." “If you want peace, prepare for war. It means you fight. Anything worth having in this life, you fight to get. And you don’t stop fighting until you get it.”

In a sense, like how the title of the book infers, it’s all about coming to a place of forgiveness in order to move on and having people in your corner to always have your back and to help spur you on.

“Everyone needs someone fighting in their corner, Blake. I’ve never had that, and neither have you. You own my heart, and everything that comes with it.”

I just loved how they shook each other’s foundations and preconceptions of themselves and others and how they all and all heal each other in the end.

•.¸. ♥★

My verdict:
A MUST READ! I cannot stress that enough!

It has everything I wanted: a solid plot, a steamy romance, a strong and opinionated female heroine, and a sexy alpha male!!

There is so many quotes that I love that specifically came from Blake because I loved his kinky and possessive nature over Layla! In fact, I’ll list them since I can’t help myself!

- “She’s hot, cute, and fiery in a way that makes me want to tame her.”

- “You want to know what B.D. stands for?..Big Dick.”

- ”My gaze back to Layla. She’s removed her net-sweater and is walking around in her linenpants and string bikini top. Dammit. I should have marked those gorgeous breasts up with my mouth when I had the chance. That would’ve kept her covered.”

- “I don’t know. I’d be nervous about putting things in my body that I can’t even pronounce.”
“Yeah? Can you pronounce Blake’s Snake?”
“How ‘bout Blake’s tongue? Blake’s finger—”

*Naughty naughty Blake! ;) *

•.¸. ♥★

As of now, I can’t wait for the next book in the series, "Fighting To Forget", which is Rex’s story!! Yay!! I hope after that the next story will be Killian “The Killer” (Jonah’s young fanboy from “Fighting For Flight”) and Layla’s daughter's story and the next after Blake's brother's story since I am very curious about him!!

Pick this up guys when it is released!! You will not be disappointed!!

Interview with J.B.Salsbry!:
Black= ME
Pink= Author

Hey J.B. Salsbury,
As you already know from our lovely conversations over Goodreads, my name is Kawehi from Kawehi’s Book Blog. I had the privilege of being granted the ARC of “Fighting to Forgive” for your blog tour and would like to ask you some questions. So here we go! ;)

Hi, Kawehi! It’s an honor to be on your blog. Thanks for having me.

1) How did you come up with the idea for this book? What inspired you to write it?

Blake’s book came to me the exact same way that all the books come to me. The best way to describe it is a kind of possession. *cue exorcism music* While I was writing Fighting for Flight, Blake showed up loud and determined. He kept talking and talking, telling me his story, and I had to shush him more times that he appreciated. The second Flight was released, I began typing the story Blake told, and Layla came along then, loud and clear.

I was inspired for the plot by the media attention that sports organizations get when athletes behave badly. One in particular that brought a background sport to the mainstream. I thought a lot about the saying, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity”, and Blake’s external conflict was born.

2) Are any of the characters based on people you know?

Yes! Almost every character I write has a quality or qualities of my friends, family, and acquaintances. If I listed them all, it would take pages. But here’s a few…

All my alpha male heroes have a bit of my husband in them. Blake’s *secret* is all my hubs.

Layla was easy to write because I pulled a ton of her characteristics from myself. Her hair twirling, confidence on the outside to cover up her insecurities on the inside, sass and backtalk, her possessiveness, and her slight rebellious nature as a teen is all me.

Eve is very much like a friend of mine, especially Eve and Layla’s interaction at the club at the end of the book. I’m pretty sure my girlfriend and I have been in similar predicaments together more than once.

Elle is loosely based on my goddaughter who is gorgeous and delivers the best teenage “whatever” I’ve ever seen.

As far as the bad guys and the bitchy girls go? My lips are sealed. ;)

3) Both Blake and Layla go through a lot in their lives and relationship. Is there anything you would like readers to take back from them or from reading your story?

Absolutely. Blake and Layla’s story revolves around forgiveness. I read a quote once that said “Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping the other guy dies”. I completely agree.

I see forgiveness as a necessary component to living a happy life. Harboring bad feelings toward someone who hurts you does nothing to punish the person, and everything to keep you from pulling every ounce of happiness there is out of life. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that you get an apology or even recognition for your hurt, but it means YOU recognize that you’re not going to carry around the negative weight forever.

And furthermore, forgiving yourself for your mistakes is no different. Accepting responsibility for hurting someone, and then resolving to let it go and move forward can make all the difference in the quality of the years you have left on this earth.

Blake and Layla have both been hurt badly, but their grudges could potentially keep them from finding the purest love imaginable. And once that love is found, they need to forgive themselves in order to accept it and fully receive it’s healing power.

4) In your own words, what is the moral or message you would like to get across to those who read “Fighting to Forgive”?

Forgiveness isn’t for the weak, it doesn’t come easy, but it’s worth fighting for.

5) Are there any particular quotes or moments that you’re fond of that occur in the book? And if you have, would you mind elaborating as to why they mean something to you?

Oh my gosh! Where to start? There are a few quotes that stick out, but I’m afraid I’d be giving too much away by sharing them.

Every time the voice in Layla’s head would ridicule her I felt really connected to her character. Some of the things that she hears were taken directly from my life experience. I think we’ve all had things said to or about us that never stop haunting our lives. I for one have many, and I know I’m the voice in other people’s heads as well after I’ve said something unthinking. Funny how words can have a lasting affect on a person and their self-esteem, even after decades.

Every interaction between Blake and Elle hit home. I’m a child of divorce and felt drawn to make Blake and Elle’s relationship realistic while also creating a sort of stepchild fantasy. The same goes for Elle’s relationship with her mother. My mom had her hands full during my teenage years. I didn’t make it easy on her. But we became closer because of it.

6) I noticed that the men in this series are alpha types of characters. Are you by chance a major fan of alpha males? If you are, and if any of the men from your Fighting Series were to pursue you, who would you choose and why? Personally, I would choose Killian since I think he’s so adorable! ;)

I’m a MAJOR fan of the alpha male. Gosh, I can only pick one? That’s the hardest question anyone has ever asked me. I love them all, each for different reasons. But if you’re going to force me to pick, I’d say Jonah. Mainly because he was my first love when I started writing, but not because he’s any better than any of the rest of them. Killian is going to be heartbreaker. Just wait!

7) Do you have any advice for aspiring or beginning writers?

Yes, DON’T GIVE UP! One of the hardest things to do as a writer is to put something out there for the public to rip apart. What I’ve learned is opinions are like fingerprints. Everyone has one, and they're all different. A reviewer will rip on one thing, while another will praise it. So, write for YOU! Do what you love, and if you love it, there’s bound to be someone out there that will love it too.

8) Anything you’re currently reading? What do you look for or think what makes a good story?

The last book I read was Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. I really enjoyed that series. Now, I’m waiting for Kristen Ashley’s Jagged, the latest in her Colorado Mountain series.

For me, what makes a good story is emotional connection. When the characters go through something, I want to feel it too. It doesn’t matter if they’re vampires, bikers, rockstars, or billionaires, as long as I’m emotionally connected, I’m invested. At that point it would take a crowbar to pry that book from my hands. Oh, and um…an alpha male hero always helps. ;)

9) And lastly, do you have anything you can or would like to share with your readers with regards as to what to expect next in the series? We know that next up will be Rex and Saint’s story!

I try to give a story to whoever is screaming the loudest. So yes, next is Rex and Georgia. Eve is biding her time, keeping quiet, but my goal is to tell her story after Rex. I’ve also got Blake’s brother Braeden’s story to tell. There are some unresolved issues in Blake’s story that will be resolved in Brae’s. And of course, we have Killer’s story. He’s actually been clawing away in my head since Fighting for Flight, but he’s not old enough yet. I’d like to tell Camille’s story, Mason, Caleb, and there are some characters in Rex’s band who are starting to whisper as well. The possibilities are endless.

Before I conclude this interview, I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to respond to my questions and inquiries. I really appreciate it.

Of course! Indie authors depend on their readers and bloggers to promote their books. So it is I who thank you. ((HUGS))

I was first introduced to the “Fighting Series” when a friend of mine had recommended it to me and reviewed it on Goodreads. I’m obsessed with alpha male characters that can fight so when I saw the cover and synopsis of your book I was instantly appealed.

Glad I did read it because I am absolutely in love with this series! <3

Once again, thank you for your time and input and I hope to hear from your works again!

Blog Tour Stop!- Storm (Storm MC, #1) by Nina Levine

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Title:  Storm (Storm MC, #1)
Author:  Nina Levine
Publication Date: November 26th 2013
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  Life can be a bitch but love can get you through any storm.

Madison Cole’s family is the Storm Motorcycle Club. Her father is the President and her brother is the VP. She grew up surrounded by bikers, crime and violence. Two years ago she walked away from her family and the world they live in. Her soul was shattered, her heart was broken and she had an addiction she couldn't shake. She picked up the pieces and put herself back together. Now her family wants her back. The club is being threatened and they send a club member to return her home to safety; the one person that could destroy everything she has worked so hard to build.

Jason Reilly has sacrificed a lot for the motorcycle club he calls family. Two years ago he made the biggest sacrifice of all; he gave up the woman he loved for them. Now he is being sent to bring her back and he is conflicted. He thought he was over her but discovers their connection is as strong as ever. Their love was all-consuming, passionate and fiery. It was also their undoing and he doesn't know if either of them is strong enough to battle the demons that ripped them apart, to find love again.

Madison and Jason are brought back together by a force out of their control; one that pushes them to a breaking point. Can they overcome their past and discover a love worth fighting for or will the harsh reality of their world finally and completely break them both?

Excerpt:

I grabbed my purse and headed outside to go and buy lunch.  J was on the phone, but saw me come outside and signalled for me to wait.
“I’m going to buy lunch, J.  And I only get an hour so I don’t have time to wait for you,” I said, tersely.  He kept talking and scowled at me.  I turned and started to walk away from him, towards the cafe where I always bought lunch.
I could hear him muttering something into the phone and then he must have ended his call because he went silent.  Then, he barked, “Madison!”
The last thing I wanted to do was stop for him, but there was something in his tone; a ‘don’t fuck with me’ command.  So I stopped, and turned around to look at him.  Oh, my.  He was shitty.
He stalked to where I was and got in my face.  “Why the fuck do you have to be so difficult about this?” He was fuming.
Well, I could see him, and raise him in his anger.  “Maybe it has something to do with the way Scott has gone about this.  And the fact that he sent you!”
He flinched.  It was only for a second, and most people wouldn’t have even noticed it.  But I knew J, and I saw it.  It surprised the fuck out of me.  “Well then, it looks like we’ve got some shit to sort out, babe, because I’m not going anywhere.”
“I don’t want to sort shit out with you.  That ship sailed two fucking years ago, J,” I spat.
He gripped my arm, pulling me closer, “No, it fucking didn’t,” he growled, eyes blazing, “And you can’t deny there’s still something here.  I feel it and I know you feel it too.”
I laughed.  No, actually, I cackled.  “You wanna fuck, J?  I can feel that, and, yeah, if you wanna go there, I’m all for it.  But don’t mistake my desire for your cock for anything else.”

MY REVIEW:

 description

“Some people showed their love with gentle and tender movements; Madison and I only knew one speed in everything we did in life. And doing it all together, we fit together perfectly in our imperfect love.”

The good: Decent plot and story line. Okay characters and pacing.

The bad: I wanted more plot and character development.

My thoughts: As a self-obsessed MC reader and hot biker lover, while I did like this book it was more so just an okay read for me that didn’t exactly stand out from all of the previous MC books that I’ve come across.

While I do commend the effort in the writing and events, what snagged it for me was the stale pacing and the constant (or should I say redundant) implications that are brought up by the female protagonist over and over about her man and the club. You would think that growing up in the biker world as the MC president’s daughter she would have been conditioned for this BUT she isn't and it affects her relationship with her family and biker beau.

As for the male protagonist, he was smexy but with no real stand out personality. He did have that alpha possessive attitude going on which is something that I love but I wish that there was more to him than what was just presented.

Over all though, criticisms and all, a steamy and exceptional story!! I liked how no matter what Ms. Levine kept the basic MC elements alive in this book as although I hate to admit, the MC world is a male dominated world where women have no real status or say in their world aside from being easy pussy or trophies to stand by their men.

I also liked the background chemistry of the two main characters. I enjoy reads where the characters meet at a young age and become friends and bloom into lovers. The only problem though for this couple was the miscommunication which stems from the MC club rules which drives many wedges between both characters.

So my verdict: An delicious and delightful read that I would recommend to all of you who love hot motorcycle men who have alpha heathen tendencies!! I’m sure that most of you ladies will fall in love with J and will now mark him as your new book boyfriend!!

Since this obviously looks to be a series, I hope for Madison’s brother’s story to be next or most especially, Nash’s story to be book two!! I LOVED the perverted Nash!! He’s my fav!!

eARC BOOK REVIEW...Theirs to Play by Kenya Wright

Title:  Theirs to Play
Author:  Kenya Wright
Publication Date: November 22nd 2013 by K. Wright Press
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  Two billionaire brothers enjoy twisted games where women are the sport. They find a female, date her, and compete to see who can bed her first.

Too bad they picked the wrong one this time. Dawn's too smart for their verbal play and too quick to get trapped by clever ploys.

The more the brothers work to capture her heart, the more they discover she might not be theirs to play.

MY REVIEW:

Money can’t always buy you everything in life. These two billionaire brothers learn that lesson the hard way.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"I’ve tried to own her, but she can’t be bought. I’ve tried to romance her, but she already sees the true me. ..For other women, I’ve always been the wolf in the sheep’s clothing, mingling with them and then stealing their hearts at ease. This one unzipped my disguise before I could even utter a word.” - Frederick

My thoughts: Holy sh*t batman, Kenya Wright you sure crafty with this one and a mean one at that for that cliffhanger!

Being my second read from you, I have to say that Dawn, the female heroine, totally kicked ass!! I mean, she told our two playboy womanizing billionaires where to stick it and would call them out on their crap.

I loved how Dawn starts making them (well, more so Frederick or “Freddy” as she calls him) re-evaluate their behavior and make them start rethinking old habits and strive for their dreams.

She makes our two male heroines look like two "blackhearted" persons who campaign around the globe while playing women and gaming them into seeing who can get the girl into bed first and then break their heart in the end.

Max, one of our rich manwhores, is the gambler and the more hard one to reach and never satisfied fellow of the two. Whereas, Frederick, is more moldable and starts developing a conscious about his actions and starts thinking about what he wants to do with his life along with trying to establish a committed relationship with Dawn (in which she is adamantly reluctant to even though she likes him).

I was super glad that Dawn never falters on her preconceptions on Frederick and Max. She sticks to her guns. You may think that she just has trust issues and albeit she does, but she does have legit reasons. I mean, come on, Max did spill the beans of what they did to women as a game. How can you ever easily trust any man or person like that?

How will things turn out for these three? Will they find love or are they fated for heartbreak? Can Dawn truly trust that Freddy’s changed? Will Max turn his gambling problem around? And will the sudden appearance of Dawn’s ex squander the progress of these lovers’ steamy affair?! Read and you will find out!

BOOK REVIEW...Severed Colours (Colour Wielders #2) by Dawna Raver

Title:  Severed Colours (Colour Wielders #2)
Author:  Dawna Raver
Publication Date: November 18th 2013 by Dawna Raver
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  The epic continues…

Quinn Sinclair trusted Arik Morgaine until he betrayed her. Scared and alone, she finds herself delivered into the hands of the evil Morgana le Fay. When Quinn discovers Morgana's plans are beyond demented and seriously depraved—making life with the Changeling seem like a day at the beach—she wonders if death is a better option?

Arik Morgaine vowed he'd save Quinn no matter the price. When his well thought out plans go terribly awry, a desperate and heartbroken Arik is forced to beg the cruel Triarchia for help. Unwilling to go on without his Älskling, he answers a question that irrevocably alters their lives.

Can Arik and Quinn find a way back to each other, or will the price of saving her rip them apart forever?

MY REVIEW:

My thoughts: I was really impressed with the craftsmanship and vivid imagination of Dawna Raver!
“Severed Colours” takes place right where “Colour Wielders” ends and gives us an ever more epic experience.

Still reeling from what she believes to be a major betrayal by Arik, Quinn struggles a lot throughout the book to rebuild her trust in Arik. Now dealing with her impending Awakening, how will she and Arik survive Arik’s mother’s reprisal? As well as will she ever regain her trust in him? Things won't be easy that's for sure!...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

My verdict: I highly recommend if you loved “Colour Wielders”! Dawna creates a nice balance between what’s “normal” to us humans (since Quinn is originally from the human world) and the supernatural world since Arik is from the Magykal Real and that’s where our story takes place. Purely crafty I must say!

Gah, I truly felt as if I was fully immersed in this magical world of Dawna Raver’s and was entranced with watching each character learn, grow, and develop as they settle more into their roles and purposes.
I seriously now can’t wait to get my hands on book three in the series!! So, great job Dawna!! And thank you for reaching out to me in regards to your latest book!

P.S.: I LOVE the book cover for this one! And I see that you have a new cover for book one! Very nice. ;)

BOOK REVIEW...A Sip of You (Epicurean, #2) by Sorcha Grace

Title:  A Sip of You (Epicurean, #2)
Author:  Sorcha Grace
Publication Date: November 16, 2013 by Sorcha Grace Books
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  The undeniable chemistry between food photographer Catherine Kelley and billionaire gourmand William Lambourne has become an unquenchable thirst…

Catherine’s career in Chicago is taking off and the handsome stormy-eyed stranger who recently rocked her world has become—dare she say it?—her boyfriend. Dating a billionaire who’s a god in the bedroom and a virtuoso in the kitchen definitely has its perks. But it’s the unguarded, tender moments with William that stir Cat’s heart and reawaken her appetite for love. A weekend trip to William’s vineyard so he can face a painful loss puts their new relationship to the test. Complex and layered, William is at once passionate and sweet, but also prickly and guarded. He’s promised openness, but it becomes immediately clear that Cat’s version of honesty and his are as different as chardonnay and pinot noir. It’s hard to fault William for his secretive ways when Cat knows she’s holding back, too. As the attraction between them gets even hotter, Catherine and William must share all of their secrets before their relationship can truly begin. And little does Cat know how dangerous confronting their pasts will be. Book 2 in the The Epicurean series.

MY REVIEW:

*I was offered a free review copy by the author and I literally jumped at the chance since I loved “A Taste of You”! So here we go!*

The good: Delectable plot and story line. Great pacing. Lovely characters. And satisfyingly sensual!

The bad: What a cliffhanger!! Grrr!! I want book three NOW! lol

My thoughts: “A Sip of You” revisits our beloved characters of Catherine and William. As Catherine’s career is taking off, she juggles her relationship with her rich, handsome, and *cough cough* ALPHA *squeals!* boyfriend, William.

Catherine and William’s romance takes many twists and turns of ups and downs throughout the course of the story BUT I loved how the author kept them grounded and relatable to real life.

The only thing of course, is that both are still guarding secrets from their pasts that can obviously pose as a deal breaker in their relationship...Go figure right?...

I absolutely loved seeing the challenges that arise at every turn and journeying with both Catherine and William as they learn how to trust and grow with one another.

However though, in a way, aside being a steamy erotic romance, this series has a flair of suspense and thrill in it! How interesting!

I can’t wait to see what Sorcha has in store next for us readers !! Will our lovers have their happy ending? Will their secrets tear them apart? What dangerous disclosure is William withholding? And will it put his and Catherine’s lives in jeopardy? Read and find out!

BOOK REVIEW...Tempting Gray (The Untouchables #2) by T.A. Grey

Title:  Tempting Gray (The Untouchables #2)
Author:  T.A. Grey
Publication Date: November 21st 2013 by Grey Ink Press LLC
Goodreads URL: HERE
Plot:  It all began nearly 600 years ago…

A dangerous vampire, mated to a woman his heart no longer beats for.

A mistake that would change his entire life.

A mistake so horrific it would lead Grayson Blackmoore back to one woman.

A woman who holds the power to shatter him completely—Arabella Donahue.

Vengeance, bloodshed. The hunt is on and Grayson won’t stop until they’re all dead.

MY REVIEW:

description

"Why? Tell me, Arabella. I need to know.” -"I didn’t want you to be him because that meant you were mating another woman.”

The good: Solid plot and story line. Very well written. Great craftsmanship and pacing. Engaging characters. And just the right amount of steam to flare my girl bits to life!

The bad: Nothing constructive wise to embellish on, but *sigh*, so much death and anguish! *tear tear* ;(

In general: “Tempting Gray” had me engrossed since the first chapter and didn’t let me off till the very end!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Was it just destiny? Coincidence? Or rather just bad timing?...

Grayson “Gray” Blackmoore’s and Arabella "Ara" Donahue's fates were forever entwined even before he had given into his arranged mating with Anita. But with luck would have them, a century later.... After an assignment leads to Gray murdering a man who’s the son of one of his worst enemies, he finds himself with a dead bruid and once again brought together with the woman who he has never forgotten. Only this time, it's to exact vengeance on the ones responsible for taking his mate’s life.

How will things turn out for them? Can they prevent more bloodshed? And will Gray let go of what’s expected of him and to give into temptation to open his heart to another?

My thoughts: T.A. Grey, I have to confess: I have a love hate relationship with you regarding this book!! One part of me wholeheartedly wanted to give you a big hug for this fantastic story...Whereas, the other part of me absolutely loathed you and wanted to bust out my pitchfork and find you! lol

I was so absorbed in this book that I stayed up from 9pm when Amazon had finally re-released it and read it into the next morning!!

I literally ripped through all of the pages because I was so excited to see what would happen next! I was that addicted! But, what I should have kept already in mind before waltzing into this book was the tragic losses that occurred along the way...

Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic

I was particularly miffed with two deaths in the book and was like, “so what is going to happen in the next book in this series then?.” And then as for the other death, I just felt darn bad for Arabella. How heartbreaking!

I also wondered who the heck the mysterious woman is in chapter 35? Beth? Nah, can’t be... And also, what the heck happened with Arabella supposed to track Zeke's mate? Did that go completely void? I thought Arabella was going to solve that after she did Gray's task? Hmm...

I’m now super curious as to how Ms. Grey is going to progress on with Lucas Blackmoore’s story, the bad boy rock god, who’d stolen the heart of Beth, Felicitiy’s bestie from “Take Me.”
