BOOK REVIEW... [ARC] Hollywood Lies by N.K. Smith
As usual, at first I was wondered to myself, "Is this going to be be another cliche of a book and a total let down?" BUT LUCKILY this book proved to be quite refreshing to me.
Actor and Director, Colette Stroud takes a chance upon dwindling talents Liliana Maddison and Devon Maddox to star in her upcoming Hollywood film.
ONLY, sparks fly between Colette and Devon the two are stuck in a forbidden romance when the studio derives a fictitious romance between Liliana and Devon to order to launch the careers of both stars and rev up ticket sales.
SO MY THOUGHTS...
If you're looking for a YA novel with a lot of angst and dramathis is it!! *Squeals* And what a worth it read it was!! I read this in one sitting because I was so invested in it and that's rare for me.
There's many motives that come into play here: love, dreams, and sacrifice.
Devon and Colette's relationship was realistic and dynamic. While I totally LOVED Cole, at times I found myself wondering if he was being genuine or not regarding his feelings in general. Colette, on the other hand, annoyed me but she did grow as a character and come around in the end so that settled me.
I highly recommend this book for people to read. I found it endearing, heart-wrenching, and definitely a smexy read since YES there is some sex scenes involved!! Go read it when it comes out guys!!
My Rating:
-Overall : 9
-Plot : 8
-Writing : 8.5
-Characters : 8
-Cover : 6
