BOOK REVIEW...Taking Shots (Assassins #1) by Toni Aleo

Elli Fisher has never thought she was good enough, let it be her job, her weight, her love life, nothing. That is until she meets Shea Adler. After doing a promotional shoot for the NHL team, the Assassins, she meets the hunky hockey player who shoots a puck, shattering her world.
Shea Adler was tired of the life he was living outside of the rink. The girls, the money blowing, the drinking, everything had to stop and it all did when he met Eleanor Fisher. He had never met anyone like her. She was feisty, witty, shy, and simply gorgeous. When he laid eyes on her, it was as if he was taking the hardest hit of his life into the boards, and he had to have her. Elli is a little skeptical of Shea, but he knows that they were meant to be together, and he needed her in his life.
Can Elli throw her insecurities out the window and love Shea with everything inside of her, or will she let a past relationship, and her family ruin any chance of her being happy.

Toni Aleo, you have officially become one of my favorite authors. I REALLY ADORED this book. It had everything I wanted: a sexy sports stud, sensual romance, "realness", and heart.

I could find myself gravitating and relating to Elli Fisher's character and her insecurities that everyone has at times. She was "REAL" and wasn't like many of the fabricated girl leads I tend to read in stories.

I also really loved hottie with a golden body hockey player Shea Adler. Shea Adler was the typical charismatic jock who's world revolved around hockey, drinking, and women.

That all changes when he meets the captivating Elli and is instantly taken with her. Elli isn't like anyone Shea's ever met and Shea has it on his agenda to prove it to her even though she doesn't believe it to work out between them.

It's all about "Taking Shots" and taking chances...

SO RANDOM THOUGHTS:
The plot and pacing of the book was nicely put together and very fluid.

The characters were both likeable and at times I found myself swooning over Shea and totally rooting for Elli.

I'M SO GLAD I PICKED UP THIS BOOK. THANK YOU LOVESWEPT VIA NETGALLERY FOR ALLOWING ME TO READ "TAKING SHOTS" AND OF COURSE IN TURN FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

My Rating:
