thecadandco-edcover
THE CAD
Bryan Leech is a cad.
Or, he *was* a cad.
No one is quite certain.
Once the quintessential playboy, Bryan claims he’s done with wild parties and weekend benders. No more one night stands leading to mornings he can’t remember; no more binges and blackouts; no more exploits plastered all over the tabloids and rag sheets. According to Bryan, he’s cleaning up his act.
The only problem is, no one believes him.
THE CO-ED
Eilish Cassidy never thought she’d be a mother at nineteen or still in college at twenty-four. Cut off from every member of her family except her favorite cousin, she’s finally managed to put her life back together. Stronger and wiser, Eilish enters her last semester of university determined to stand on her own. Now she just needs to find an internship.
The only problem is, her best option—by far—places her directly in the path of her son’s father, and he doesn’t remember her at all.
THE PLAN
Bryan is determined to prove he’s changed. Eager to settle down with the right woman, he’s got his sights set on the gorgeous redhead who seems terribly familiar.
Eilish is determined to hide her secret. She’ll do anything to keep her child safe, even if that means ignoring her own wishes and desires.
But what happens when Bryan starts to remember? And what will it take for Bryan to convince the girl he forgot that she’s unforgettable?

Release Blitz, ARC Review + Giveaway!- Time's Up! by Vicki Green

Title:  Time's Up!
Author: Vicki Green
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: February 20, 2017
Plot: What happens when your wealthy, pretentious Italian parents create a contract for you when you turned twenty-one and now a few years later you realize you only have nine months left to fulfill it.

The terms:
Must be married and pregnant by the age of twenty-five.

The catch:
It has to be true love.

All stipulated in the contract.

The problem:
Rica has no boyfriend.
She’s not easy.
She’ll be twenty-five in nine months.

What’s NOT in the contract:
Her parents forgot to mention he must be Italian.

Well, at least there’s a little hope. Very little hope.

**This story is intended for 18+ readers.

 My Review

This novel was just okay for me.  It felt very rushed and unrealistic.  Then again, people do a lot of crazy things for money.

Anyone can guess what this story is about just by reading the story synopsis.  Rica is from a high society Italian family that wants her to settle down, have a baby before she's 25, and her beau HAS TO be Italian as well.

Enter Luke.  Luke is everything Rica's family does not want for her.  He's NOT Italian... he's Scottish... and his questionable background and motives spell trouble with a capital T.  Just what is he hiding?  And can his non-Italian break the boundaries of pure Italian breeding?

So.....basically that's the story in a jiffy.  Just so you guys know, it does move really fast.  It almost seems like an insta-love even though it's not.  It's just an instant attraction leads to the male lead deciding that he's going to fulfill the female lead's contract needs by the second meeting and everything taking off from there.

I was really baffled by Rica's family and their outrageous demands of their daughter.  I mean, wow.  And Rica and Luke.  Even if it falls to money, I was like "woah" to them deciding to commit to those terms when knowing nothing about each other.

Anyway, I think this book might appeal to lots but I was Switzerland on it.

 Excerpt

He’s headed for second base, giving me a wink. Cocky son of a.... I start running toward him, my hand outstretched with the ball, ready to tag his ass. God, what an ass. I’m a fairly fast runner since I jog all the time, but he starts pulling ahead, so I push harder. I start gaining on him and when he looks at the base, I know what he’s going to do. Just as he begins to slide.… I dive.

“YOU’RE OUT!”

I’d feel a little like gloating but when I look up from my position, his head is cocked to one side and he’s smiling widely. “Feel free to stay down there a while.” He winks. I feel the heat of my blush as I push myself back from having my face right between his legs. Just like his large muscles, his cock is freaking huge! And hard as a rock. He rubs his scruffy chin. “Uh, you might want to get that dirt off. Right about here.” I give him a dirty look.

Release Blitz ARC Review- Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward

mack daddy available

From New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?

So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.

At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.

Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.

I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.

They didn’t know about our past.

He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.

As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.

I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.

Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.

And soon I might be breaking all the rules.

Author's note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

 My Review

Mack Daddy was an okay read for me.  It was a story of second chances and fighting for your own happily ever after.  Mack and Frankie have a past history together and have always felt a spark for one another.  Only problem was, is that one was always romantically unavailable.  When they first met, Mack had a serious girlfriend and now years later, it is Frankie who is in a serious relationship.

Now with Mack back in Frankie's life, with a young son in tow, and trying to win her over, it is a matter of mending fences, making a final decision of the heart, and countering external forces that seek to tear these two apart.  Will Frankie choose to leave her steady beau for Mack?  Will Mack finally get the only girl who's ever made his heart skip a beat?  What about Mack's baby momma and Mack's father's powerful political influences?   Not to mention, Frankie's teaching job?  If she were to entertain dating the father of her student, how would that affect her?

I have to say, I almost decided to not finish this one.  Not that I disliked it, I just don't care anymore to indulge in 'angsty' situations with messy love triangles, in this case it was kind of like a square, and having a child in the mix of it.  The reason I did decide to finish this novel ultimately, was simply out of the intention to find out what happened in the end.  That was it really.

I'm not saying that this book was bad or anything.  It was just not my cup of tea after all.

Anyway, I'm sure others will take love and joy in this, so if you're curious, then jump on in and have a blast.  This novel was just not for me.

 My Review

☆ I received an ARC via TRSOR PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

Going into this, the only real reason I decided to pick this up was because I had LOVED Ilsa Madden-Mills' Dirty English series.  I quite honestly, dreaded the whole "fake fiancee" setup as I feel that it is quite a cliche in books, but luckily this standalone was not that typical case and was very charming.

I must of read this in two or three sittings which is quite fast for me with my chaotic life.  Max and Sunny were so addicting that I somehow HAD TO fit them in.  ESPECIALLY, with that beginning.  I just knew, I just knew who it was.  Definite great way to grab a readers attention.

I also enjoyed the development between our two characters.  It isn't insta-love although they both do share a great attraction for the other.  Sunny was a ray of sunshine.  I really loved her.  She's not annoying nor is she an over the top drama lama or doormat.  She's just your every day girl just trying to make it into the world.

And Max.  Max, although very popular with the ladies is not the stereotype jock that thinks of himself as a god and does not sleep with anything that looks his way.  He had standards and has been hurt by a previous relationship before.

Max is without doubt, serious book boyfriend material, and will have you swooning over him with his lunwavering loyalty, overprotective antics, and panty melting olympics in bed!!! Oh, how I would love a male heroine like him!!

 Excerpt

Max stalked over to the barrier that divided the stands from the football field and jumped it. The fans went nuts as he brushed past them, some not even realizing it until he was down the aisle. The Jumbotron followed him.
“Good Lordy, what’s he doing?” Mimi asked, clutching at her chest.
“I don’t know,” I said rather weakly, taking the chance to study him the closer he came. He was beautiful, his shoulders impossibly broad. To add to the distraction, his helmet was in his hand and all that dark brown hair was flowing around his chiseled features as if he had a fan in his face. My Viking.
“He’s coming over here,” Mimi commented.
He was. But why?
I stopped breathing . . .right when he came to a halt in front of me and knelt down on one knee.
Eyes the color of a wild ocean gazed at me.
He took my left hand in his right one.
“Max,” I breathed, my heart fluttering.
He gazed up at me. “Sunny Blaine, will you marry me?”
The stadium went wild. In a daze, I looked up at the Jumbotron and felt like I was watching this happen to someone else. Camera phones flashed all around us.
My first clear thought was I’ll kill him.
Aloud, nothing came out but a faint wheeze. Clearly someone had stuffed a giant wad of cotton in my mouth. Clearly I needed something a lot stiffer to drink than this Diet Coke. Clearly my fake boyfriend was a freaking raving lunatic.
He sat his helmet on the ground next to my feet, reached inside it and pulled out a small black box.
No, no, no!
The box opened, and my stomach churned at the sight of the large round solitaire diamond ring that was nestled on the black silk. I blinked repeatedly to clear my vision.
With deft fingers, Max eased it out of the lining and slipped it on my left hand.
I stared down at it. Then back at him.
I was going to murder the hottest quarterback in the country.
Kiss her, Kiss her, the crowd chanted.
We were the focal point of the entire world.
Max stood and tugged me up with him until we were standing. He slid his hand around my neck and pulled his face to mine. The sky was blotted out as he kissed me.
But I hadn’t said yes!
I wouldn’t say yes.
Not to a fake engagement.
The applause of the stadium was deafening. And his kiss—it was deadly. Despite my rage, my body craved him. His lips were hot, so hot, and my tongue met his with a vengeance. We kissed hard, and I nipped at him, my teeth scraping across his lips. But the only one who’d end up bleeding in this scenario was me.
He eased back to take me in, and with a final look at my face he gave a thumbs-up sign to the entire stadium. They went nuts, chanting his name.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered in my ear, letting his hand trail down my arm as he stepped back from me. He walked away backward, eyes on me the entire time. The announcers for the game told everyone who might have missed it that Max Kent had just asked his girlfriend to marry him, and she’d said yes. More cheers came as they replayed him on his knee in front of me with a giant YES written across the top.
I plopped back down in my seat. Frozen.
“. . . did you see her face? Shocked . . .”
“. . . most romantic thing in football . . .”
“. . . luckiest girl in the world . . .”
My face went hot. Even my ears burned. I wanted to crawl under a seat.
God.
What a lie.
The half ended and our offense came out to the field, snapped the ball, and Max threw it straight to Tate who ran it in for another touchdown. My chest constricted and anger churned in my gut.
I didn’t care who won.
I hated football right now.
Most of all, I hated Max Kent, and I was going to make him pay.
