BOOK REVIEW...Fighting for Flight (Fighting #1) by Jamie Salsbury

What happens when in order to win, you’re forced to lose?

The only daughter of an infamous Las Vegas pimp, Raven Morretti grew up an outsider. Liberated from the neglectful home of her prostitute mother, she finds solace as a mechanic. With few friends, she’s content with the simple life. Flying under the radar is all she knows, and more than she expects.

Until she catches the eye of local celebrity, UFL playboy Jonah Slade.

Weeks away from his title fight, Jonah is determined to stay focused on everything he’s trained so hard to achieve. Undefeated in the octagon, he’s at the height of his career. But resisting Raven’s effortless allure and uncomplicated nature is a fight he can’t win.

Jonah trades in his bad-boy reputation and puts his heart on the line. But when her father contacts her, setting in motion the ugly truth of her destiny, Jonah must choose. In a high-stakes gamble where love and freedom hang in the balance, a war is waged where the price of losing is a fate worse than death.

Will the hotheaded Jonah be able to restrain his inner fighter to save the woman he loves?

Or will Raven be forced into a life she’s been desperate to avoid?

Lately, I've fallen into a book slump where I've been practically hating every single book I've come across since "This Man Confessed by Jodi Ellen Malpas."  Thank god, "Fighting For Flight" got me out of it. :D

Sparks fly at first sight when UFL playboy troublemaker Jonah Slade lays eyes on raven haired Raven Morretti.

Raven, daughter of Vegas' most notorious pimp, is gorgeous, independent, and a bit of a tomboy.  She dreams on owning her own auto mechanic garage but plans change when her father shows up with plans of his own agenda for Raven.

How things plan out for these budding lovers?

My Casting For Noah Slade

My Casting For Raven Morretti

...........
"Fighting For Flight" is a bit predictable but nonetheless I still LOVED IT! It rates among my book loves like Beautiful/Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire, REAL by Katy Evans, and Extreme Love by Abby Niles.

I look forward to the next installment of this series, "Fighting to Forgive," which focuses on Jonah's bestie, Blake.  He's so going to be eating his words from "Fighting For Flight" when he proclaimed:

"Remind me when I decide o settle down to find a girl wihtout baggage. Preferably one with no family." He hold up his hand and starts ticking off fingers with each stipulation. "No kids, ex-husbands, pyscho dads, fucking skeletons in the closet. None of that shit."
"It's gonna take a special girl to put up with your ass, Blake. You got no room to be picky."
"I'm serious, man. I'd rather stay single my entire life, banging anyone who can keep up, than take on some chick with issues. You can tattoo that on my ass if you don't believe me."

OOH! You are so going to regret that buddy!! By the looks of the synopsis in "Fighting to Forgive" you are going to be sprung son!! Everyone stay tuned for the release date as we will finally get to witness the great Blake Daniels fall!

My Rating:

-Overall : 9
-Plot : 8.5
-Writing : 8.5
