ARC BOOK REVIEW...Dragonfly by Leigh Talbert Moore

Gossip Girl meets VC Andrews in this contemporary family saga. Love, lies, and betrayal become the new normal when Anna enters the world of Jack and Lucy Kyser.” –Magan Vernon, international bestselling author of The Only Exception

Three bad things I learned this year:
-People you trust lie, even parents.
-That hot guy, the one who's totally into you, he might not be the one.
-Things are not always how they appear.

Three good things I learned this year:
-Best friends are always there for you, even when they're far away.
-That other hot guy, the one who remembers your birthday, he just might be the one.
-Oh, and things are not always how they appear.

When her best friend moves at the start of senior year, Anna Sanders resolves to keep her head down and follow her plans through graduation. Until Lucy, a beautiful, mysterious girl, and Jack, her gorgeous twin brother, transfer to Anna's school.

The two draw Anna into their rich, extravagant life on the Gulf Coast with their distant, single father. Anna can't resist falling for Jack, even after he pushes her away.

Just when she's finally learning to be strong, Anna uncovers their father's closely guarded secret and is pulled back--this time even closer. His secret could change all their lives.
Expected publication: June 6th 2013 by Leigh Talbert Moore (first published June 1st 2013)

My first read by Leigh Talbert Moore, "Dragonfly" is a little different from your typical Young adult/New adult and contemporary romance novels.

Normally, I can see a trend when I start reading books but this one was a little unpredictable and I was pleasantly surprised by the take on the story line and actions of the characters.

The only thing is that OF COURSE there is a love triangle between the main girl, Anna, and two guys. One of the guys is attractive and popular while the other is artsy and mysterious. Shocker, eh?

While the plot, pacing, and characters were decent, I was intrigued a lot about the suspense of the secrets that a couple of the characters were holding. Some of the characters had their "notice me" moments for me while others didn't.

I'm now really curious as to how Ms. Moore plans to take the next installment in the series and the direction it will take. I can't wait!

My Rating:

-Overall : 8.5
-Plot : 8
-Writing : 8.8
-Characters : 8
-Cover : 7
