#The modern day Romeo and Juliet but with a mafia family in the mix and corrupted government officials!#
Love and Hate tells the story of the Pierces (=Montagues) and the Stonems (=Capulets). Both have been at odds with each other for years and with one side looking start anew and the other looking to put the other behind bars, it’s going to take a bit of love, blood, sacrifice, and violence to settle the score between these two warring families.
So our young star-crossed lovers:
Donovan Pierce.
Son of Roman Pierce: “gangster, mob boss, and criminal” now trying to clean up his act and go on the straight and narrow. A brooder by nature, this James Dean look alike has it all: looks, wealth, and privilege….AS WELL AS, his pick of girls. But there’s something, or someone, missing from his life. What could it be?
So now Claudia…
Meet: Claudia Stonem.
Daughter of one of New York’s top assistant U.S. attorney’s, Henry Stonem, hungry and hellbent on taking down the notorious Pierce family. This stunning beauty brunette beauty with piercing gray eyes has a heart full of gold and her life carefully planned out by her overbearing father. But what she really wants is to be free and make her own choices...even in love. Then, one fateful night, one encounter, everything changes… only, was it merely just coincidence? Had they met before?
And will when tragedy strikes, family objections stand to thwart them apart, and federal conspiracies that could prove deadly… will these two forbidden lovers achieve their happily ever after? Will their families ever put aside their differences and end their petty feud? Or will their romance end up in misfortune like their predecessors?
Read and you will find out!
My thoughts: I was actually surprised with how much I liked this read. Albeit, it did have its issues, namely that it needed a lot of editing in the beginning chapters and last few chapters. BUT, in the end, content and flow wise it was well crafted enough to work in my favor.
I really look forward to what this author will bring to the table next as now Donovan’s baby sis, Ella’s story is up next. *squeals!* Thank you Chelsea (the author) for reaching out and allowing me to be a part of your book experience! I DEFINITELY want to read Ella’s story!
But, I’m kind of confused to where you’re going to go with book three. I mean, there isn’t another person in the Pierce family needing a love line since (*I won’t reveal the spoiler*). Hmmm…I wonder…
My Rating:
-Overall : 8.75-9
-Plot : 8.75
-Writing : 8.75
-Characters : 8.75
-Cover : 8.5
Since I was a kid, I've always had a an imagination that consumed me in more ways than one. I've always created these stories and pictures in my head, but never thought I would actually get a chance to do something about it. All I can say is thank God for Amazon Self Publishing! I used to think I was weird because of it, but due to the people who support me, I realized God gave me a gift. So that's my story. I want to do what makes me happy and creating stories makes me happy. If I'm not writing, I am either in deep thought (Analyzing everything), chillin with my family and friends, listening to music, reading, watching movies, or daydreaming.Well actually I daydream while doing all of that stuff but in the end God Bless love, technology, and pop culture!
My advice to people is do what makes you happy and use the gifts God has blessed you with.
