“Yes, but we must never forget that God has entrusted us with our children. His plans for them are far greater than we could even fathom.”
Wow. Such an emotional read that embezzles it's way deeply in your heart. I'm not a mother myself but I've never cried before because of a book but this one really touched me. It's genuinely timeless and exquisite.
....
"Entrusted" tells the story of a mother trying to find answers. Pregnant at the age of 19, Anna gives birth and raises her son Justin the best she can. Only, when Justin becomes a teen things all change. Justin becomes distant and pushes away from Anna and at 18 disappears from her life leaving her heartbroken.
Desperate to find answers, she encounters a soldier years later while on vacation who may be the key to reconnecting with her estranged son. Only what starts off as a simple quest to find reason turns out to be a journey of love, faith, and also forgiveness.
My thoughts:
Sherry Rummler definitely is a talent to behold. Her writing and ways of conveying the relationship between Anna and Justin was utterly heartbreaking yet beautiful. I had to pause many times in the book because I was in awe of what I read and learned.
"Entrusted" will tug readers' heartstrings and make them re-evaluate life. I know I did. I learned a few valuable life lessons while reading this and won't take anything I gained for granted.
I also appreciated how she brought in the theme of God without getting all preachy and overbearing on readers. That was bold since when authors tend to mention God and anything to do with the Bible, it can feel very forced and unnatural.
Thank you Sherry Rummler for this wonderful read. I hope to hear more from your work in the future.
"Brilliant white light streaked from the sky and touched her shoulders. She looked to the light, raised her hands to God, and whispered, 'He’s not mine; he’s yours.'"
