BOOK REVIEW...Falling for the Backup (Assassins, #3.5) by Toni Aleo

After serving as a dutiful bridesmaid in the wedding from hell, Aynslee Shaw just wants to slink home to Nashville and forget the whole trip. That is, until the hottest guy she’s ever seen is seated next to her on the flight and dazzles her with his easy laugh and killer smile. But just when she thinks things are getting good, he vanishes, leaving Aynslee wondering, was that guy the one? And did she just let him slip through her fingers?

Former superstar goalie Jordan Ryan is back on the ice—finally. After a crippling knee injury that had him wondering if he’d ever play pro hockey again, he’s got his full attention on rebuilding his career. So a pretty—okay, beautiful—girl on a plane shouldn’t be a distraction. But Jordan is very, very distracted. And when Aynslee crosses his path again, he’s not sure any job in the world is worth missing his second chance with a woman like her.

Awww. Why so short?!?! *cries in a corner*

I REALLY liked "Falling For the Backup."  It was simple, fun, and smexy.

I thought the characters between Jordan and Aynslee, aside from Tate and Audrey from
"Empty Net," were the most mature and easy to read through compared to the rest of the series.

The first two book, "Taking Shots" and "Trying to Score," were head sores at times since the female leads (*cough cough Elli and Fallon) were so frustrating at times that I literally wanted to slap them for dragging out the drama or exaggerating their situations!!

I also appreciated how Ms. Aleo doesn't add in any unnecessary plot developments like she normally does in her stories and kept this one light since it is a novella after all.

I REALLY look forward to "Blue Lines" which is the installment I've been waiting all these months especially for!! :D

My Rating:

-Overall : 8.5
-Plot : 8
-Writing : 8.5
-Characters : 8
-Cover : 8
