Loving Colt was one of those light, contemporary romances that make you think of sunshines and rainbows.
Here-- you follow the lives of Alexis “Alex”, her daughter Maddison “Maddi”, and of course, hunky cowboy Colt!!
Alex knows the joys and woes of love. After all, it was through a heart-quenching teenage romance that led to the conception of daughter, Maddi. And through pain-staking tragedy that led to Alex’s first heartbreak and paved the way to the arms of an abusive ex that refuses to let Alex and Maddy go.
Now on the run with nothing but the clothes on their backs, a rundown car, and barely any money to spare—Alex pulls into a restaurant in Brooklet, Georgia and from here our story takes flight!--In the shape of a handsome, Southern gentleman that is, with a dimpled grin who will make you ladies swoon and tingling in your panties!!
Bring on Colt, baby!!
So, my thoughts:
As my first C.A. Harms book EVER, I genuinely liked this story. It’s one of those easy-squeezy reads where those who find themselves sh*% out of luck can find some renewed hope by the kindness and generosity of strangers.
While I do feel that a lot of what happened throughout the plot was a bit cheesy, fast-paced and solved, as well as fairy tale like--- I also couldn’t help but envy the camaraderie of Colt and Alex’s families and their bountiful unconditional love and loyalty for one another.
They are so caring, protective, and willing to give any one in need the shirts off their back that I couldn’t help but fall in love with every single one of these characters. So chivalrous and considerate!!
Now I need to backtrack and pick up bks 1 & 2 so I’m dying to know what happened in ReedXKori as well as GavinXMaria’s books!! They’re such awesome individuals from what I’ve observed in LC!! Definitely the kind of people you want on your side!!
I’m now kind of hoping that Alex’s brother and sister, Jett and Harper, will somehow have their own books in the series, but I’m pretty sure if that were to happen then Jett’s would be a side plot within Harper’s because he is not a Country Boy. *Shucks!*
All in all though, a great, heartwarming series!! Can't wait to see what's in store for the 'Southern Boys' and their gals next!
