Title: Ruin You Completely (Sloan Brothers, #3)
Author: Calia Read
Publication Date: February 3rd 2015
Plot: I met Mathias Sloan in a club.
Truth.
I told him I was twenty-four.
Lie.
I told him my name was Olivia.
Lie.
I thought that I would have a one-night stand and be done with him.
Truth.
I didn’t know that he was my new piano instructor for the next six months…
Truth.
We would come together and fall apart. After him, every man was ruined.
Truth.
If I knew what I know now, I wouldn’t have walked to him. I would’ve turned and run…
LIE.

☆✮ My Review ✮☆
☆ I received an ARC via Ssh Mom's Reading in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆
“I don’t know what you think I can give you, Katja.”“Everything,” I whispered. “You can give me everything.”
Ruin You Completely takes place majority in Germany but a little in the U.S.
It’s the typical student-teacher taboo relationship where the student, upcoming piano prodigy Katja Schwartz, and broody instructor Mathias Sloan embark on a tumultuous off limits relationship…
“His thumbs brushed against my cheeks as he cradled my face. He looked me straight in the eye. I knew I was crossing that line he had made for us. Teacher. Student.Student. Teacher.I hated that line more than anything. I wanted to obliterate it. Make it disappear. I wanted my heart to have what it wanted so much: him.”
EXCEPT!
Instead of one party being underage and the other being an adult--
Both are of consenting age…
(+) AND ironically start off their "relationship" under false pretenses. *cue the drama*
So with the lines already crossed, and secrets, lies, insecurities, time lapses, paving the way to the greatest transnational love ever existed…can these two broken individuals find salvation in each other? Or will they ruin each other completely and irrevocably?
So, my thoughts?:
This is actually my first Calia Mead read EVER and I really enjoyed it. Granted, I did feel a slight disconnection between Katja and Mathias as a couple at times…as well as felt the story was embroidered with a whole lot of angst, sexual tensions, succumbing your past and emotions, and Mathias being his own worst enemy....
“Mathias was an impossible puzzle. People met him and tried to put him together. A few pieces clicked in place, but when luck ran out and there were no more matches, the novelty started to fade. Soon they gave up, telling themselves that they’d come back. But they didn’t. I didn’t give up that easy, though.”
As a whole, I liked the whole Germanic setting with the cultural and language infusions, along with the story just itself. It was just catchy for me and made me want to read more.
All in all though, a great story!! Now all I have to do to get the FULL ENTIRE effect is to go and read the two precious Sloan brothers book novels!! Lol *Bring it on!!*
Until then readers!! I’m out!!
“We may have met through lust, but this was something different. Something better and stronger and altogether terrifying. It had the potential to cement our lives together.”

Neuschwanstein stood tall and imposing to
our left. People craned their necks back and took pictures. For the passionate
picture takers was a ledge where you could step out and take pictures of the
mountains and the stream below. Not a lot of people walked out onto the
observation ledge. Forget that it was made out of steel. If you can see the
deep ravine beneath you then you’re seeing way too much. Most people took a few
shots of the castle and hurried off.
Without a second thought I grabbed Mathias’
hand and dragged him toward that direction.
“Katja-”
“Come on,” I urged.
I’d been here so many times; the novelty of
it should have been old. Yet a rush of excitement ran through me. Maybe it was
the tourists or maybe it was the man next to me who gave me this feeling.
That man was now frozen in place like a
block of ice. He stared down at the deep ravine as if it was the portal to
hell.
“Mathias, come on.”
“Fuck no.”
He
took a step back. I stepped onto the steel ledge. He turned white.
“Come out here and see the view.”
Mathias hands disappeared into his jean
pockets. He rocked back on his heels, looking ready to bolt.
I couldn’t believe it. This man, who
towered over most people, was afraid of heights.
“Come on,” I coaxed one more time. I
couldn’t keep the small smile from my face. In my position, I don’t think
anyone would blame me. It was nice to see that Mathias wasn’t perfect. He had
flaws. He had fears.
“Katinka,” he warned.
“Don’t be scared.”
“I’m not scared,” he replied quickly.
I quirked a brow and gestured to the open
space next to me. “Then come stand next to me.”
Mathias didn’t move.
“Live a little,” I challenged. I held my
hand out, not expecting him to take it. My hand wavered in the cold air, and I
smiled softly and said, “Please?”
