Plot: Marissa Pearson is ready to take on the world. That is, as long as the world isn’t confrontational. She never learned to deal with opposition, instead she runs from it. She ran from a violent boyfriend, a cheating husband, and now she’s on the run from Andrew Reed. He’s the sexy Hollywood playboy intent on nailing her down in more ways than one.
Long days on a movie set can bring people together. Soon Marissa finds herself falling for the wrong guy-- again. When Marissa’s past catches up with her, in the form of a vengeful ex, she learns the price of running. But Andrew channels the heroes he plays on-screen in order to give Marissa the strength to do the right thing.
Only when Marissa learns to face challenges thrown at her, will she also learn Andrew was the right guy all along.

Up to about 80% of the book, I had been really digging this read. Then it switched to Andrew’s POV (since the rest was Marissa’s) and it felt a little off kilter.
Why change the POV this late in the game?
Not to mention that hot mess of when the female protagonist’s old ex flame comes into the picture and that whole scene at the hotel ensues…
What in the world happened here? Everything just kind of fell apart. I mean, with ramifications that could lead to dire consequences if let revealed, I did understand the protagonists' freak out and why they would have to keep this occurrence a secret. But man, did it puzzle and bewilder me a bit.
Such a melancholy kind of fate, even if it was in self-defense, along with the hell that Marissa's soon to be ex-husband puts her through, let alone her and Andrew's personal pent-up insecurities that unfold throughout.
I just....Words cannot describe to what I feel to what this couple is put through regardless that they do retain their own HEA in the end.
So over all? A good, solid read that accentuated the good and bad of what happens in life and in Hollywood.
That said, I would be totally lying if I said that I loved every part of it since I just did not agree with the turn of events leading up with Raymond is all.
But hey, that’s just my opinion guys. I’m sure you’ll have your own thoughts and or reactions.
I just wish there was more of an conclusion for Andrew and Marissa-- What happens with their relationship from there? Will Marissa ever try to go back to showbiz since it was her dream and the ultimate deal-breaker with her and her hubby (even though he broke her trust first with his infidelity) to lead to divorce? Will she and Andrew stay in Boston for a quiet life? Or in L.A. where lights, camera, action run a muck? Will they ever confess to what really went down that day to authorities? Or will it be unveiled on its own? And how will the public react to Andrew and Marissa's coveted romance?
Questions, questions... Maybe I look into things too much (or missed something along the lines), but these are some things that I wonder.
Still though, an enjoyable read even if it did have some rough patches in it for me.♥
