Plot:  A promise to keep…

Honoring her mother's last wish, Lane Channing vows to follow her dreams. She takes the 'big risk' and leaves her small Kansas town behind and heads to LA, the city of dreams. She's got a stellar job lined up, an old jeep, and 20 bucks to last her to her first paycheck. Her hopes shatter when she arrives to find her job's been given to someone else. Now she's broke and will soon be living on the streets if she doesn't do something fast. Welcome to cutthroat - Lane is most certainly not in Kansas anymore.

On the cusp of success...

Dillon MacAvoy has one goal–to become a star--whatever it takes. Even if it means honing his bad-boy can’t-be-tamed-and-forever-single image. Besides the image isn't far from the truth. Dillon cares only about his younger brother and his career. He's on the brink of superstardom if he can just decide on the next right script. But for that, he needs a script reader he can trust.

In a strange twist of fate...

Lane Channing is Dillon's last chance. If Lane lasts the summer without becoming MacAvoy's latest conquest, she's guaranteed a job in entertainment. No problem, as long as she can ignore the heat that pulses through her every time Dillon is in the room. After all, love and commitment with a sweet, hometown girl would only ruin the Dillon MacAvoy brand.

MY REVIEW:

"Nothing is too much for you...I need you to know that, to understand. Nothing is too much for you, Lane...You are becoming my everything."

Wow, for my first Maggie Marr read I have to say that I actually enjoyed myself while reading this. I won't go as far to say that this was the best book I've ever read, but it did hit a sweet niche for me.

Hard Glamour was a light and sensual read that portrayed the sacrifices that we encounter in life.

From a small town girl leaving all that she knows and moving to the big city. And then being abruptly shoved into the cut throat world of fame and glamour.

To a guy trying to make something of himself while constantly under the eyes of Hollywood....

Who knows what a little "twist in fate" and brush with the lifestyles of the rich and the famous can bring two individuals from two completely different worlds?

SO, MY VERDICT: A lovely debut for me to be introduced into the world of Maggie Marr!! I definitely will be looking forward to more reads from her and am highly anticipating book two from this series!! Is it going to be on Dillon and Lane again? Nah, I can't be. Book one ended with a prevalent HEA that I don't want to be perturbed.

Hmmm.... Well, I hope book two will be on Amanda. I know many of you might want it to be on "Dillane" or even Choo but I want it to be Amanda. I really liked her and at first thought she was going to be a snarky *itch* but she turned out to be a great ally for Lane. Gosh, I'm so over thinking this! lol.

I'll end my review here then. :) Very brilliant read!
