Review- Loving Mr. Daniels by Brittainy C. Cherry

Title:  Loving Mr. Daniels
Author:  Brittainy C. Cherry
Date:  May 11th 2014
Plot: To Whom it May Concern,

It was easy to call us forbidden and harder to call us soulmates. Yet I believed we were both. Forbidden soulmates.

When I arrived to Edgewood, Wisconsin I didn’t plan to find him. I didn't plan to stumble into Joe's bar and have Daniel's music stir up my emotions. I had no clue that his voice would make my hurts forget their own sorrow. I had no idea that my happiness would remember its own bliss.

When I started senior year at my new school, I wasn’t prepared to call him Mr. Daniels, but sometimes life happens at the wrong time for all the right reasons.

Our love story wasn’t only about the physical connection.

It was about family. It was about loss. It was about being alive. It was silly. It was painful. It was mourning. It was laughter.

It was ours.

And for those reasons alone, I would never apologize for loving Mr. Daniels.

 My Review

☆ I received an RC via the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you ☆

Oh my stars, this book was just outstanding!
While I’ve always had an intrigue for student-teacher romances, they’ve almost always felt flat and redundant and fell into the same plotlines as one another.

Loving Mr. Daniels was by far the most versatile, heart-rendering and wrenching, and standout from the rest that I’ve come across! So breathtakingly raw and honest with some Shakespeare references to boot!

Sure, it is does retain a lot of angst, but it did not in any way take away from the bittersweet love, passion, and connection that Ashlyn and Daniel share and possess.

Both are severely broken people, with demons that only those who’ve lived in similar situations could only imagine. And yet, they get each other in a way that no one could ever.

For Daniel and Ashlyn—they are each other’s hope and redemption. They are the light at the end of the tunnel in the other’s black and white world.

I literally kept playing that song by Gabrielle Aplin called “Salvation” in my head while reading this as some of the lyrics just summarized what I felt correlated between both protagonists.

They symbolize the constant something or someone that both can go to in time’s of clarity and consistently always going to be there when life gets rough. They are each other’s ‘salvation’ and trickle of deliverance and strength to help them let go of the pains of their past and forge a future.

Author Brittainy Cherry definitely is one of those author’s on the rise and to be on the lookout for as she writes with heart, conviction, and literally “chicken soup for the soul.” It was metaphorically like, therapy for readers.

Loving Mr. Daniels is without doubt, one-click worthy for all of you who’ve contemplated picking this baby up!

An unequivocal gem of a read!!
