Author: Whitney Gracia Williams
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Date: April 30, 2015
Plot: Just friends.
We’re just friends.
No, really. She’s just my best friend...
Arizona Turner has been my best friend since fourth grade, even when we “hated” each other. We’ve been there for one another through first kisses, first “times,” and we’ve been each other’s constant when good relationships turned bad. (We even went to colleges that were minutes away from each other…)
Throughout the years, and despite what anyone says, we’ve never crossed the line.
Never thought about it.
Never wanted to.
Until one night changed everything.
At least, it should’ve ...
Just friends.
We’re just friends.
I’m only saying this until I figure out if she’s still “just” my best friend…

For anyone who reads this book’s synopsis, it’s pretty easy to figure out what this book is about.
Sincerely, Carter reminded me of that saying, “Easy as pie.” It was fast, cohesive, low on the drama, and adept to understand where and what makes Carter and Arizona “Ari”’s relationship so solid, so impenetrable and everlasting that it stemmed from 4th-5th grade all the way to adulthood.
I loved how author Whitney Garcia Williams doesn’t make their romance bloom overnight but rather in increments of self-realization and exploration. While both characters do know after they overstep the boundaries of friend and lover that they’re going in way over their heads to unmarked territory, I did admire how both acknowledged that their relationship would change a bit, but over all, knew that they still had and would always be there for one another no matter what.
Sure, there was uncertainty and some rough patches, but I liked how things weren’t over drawn out or dramatized. I really hate drama-lama’s and dread them in these types of scenarios and this read did not hit those buttons for me.
Carter and Ari’s characters were likable, relatable, had great rapport with one another and were very witty and up front. Just what I envision for “friends to lovers” types of reads.
Author Whitney G. Williams has definitely made a fan out of me, as this is my first read of hers, and I’m quite taken with her writing! I would love to read more from her!
I gobbled up every piece of it and laughed deviously when both would call each other on dates and even ditch said date to hang out or rescue one another. It was so endearing yet scandalous!
Anyway, a super sweet, steamy and endearing read that shows that unconditional love transcends all and everything, building from unseemly friendships into more!!
