ARC Review- Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras

Title:  Kaleidoscope Hearts
Author:  Claire Contreras
Publication Date:  January 20th 2015

Plot:  He was my older brother's best friend.
He was never supposed to be mine.
I thought we would get it out of our system and move on.

One of us did.
One of us left.

Now he’s back, looking at me like he wants to devour me. And all those feelings I’d turned into anger are brewing into something else, something that terrifies me.
He broke my heart last time.
This time he'll obliterate it.

This is a standalone.

I liked this story, I did. But sheesh, it took SOOO LONG to move from point A to point B that I was basically wheelchairing it to the finish line!

Yeah sure, I get forbidden romance with your brother's best friend and all of it insinuates in terms of the consequences. But damn, did both protagonists need a kick to get their panties on right and stop being so darn chicken!! You're not getting any younger!

And what was the deal with Victor as well as Mia and Jenson? I kind of wish that there was some kind of epilogue in regards to what happens to them and their love lives. Maybe a sequel or something?

Anyway, a good read but it did make me want to hit something at times with the slow pacing and indecisiveness between both main characters.

 About the Author

claire contreras

Claire Contreras graduated with her BA in Psychology from Florida International University. She lives in Miami, FL with her husband, two little boys, and three dogs.

Her favorite past times are: daydreaming, writing, and reading. She has been described as a random, sarcastic, crazy girl with no filter. Life is short, and it’s more bitter than sweet, so she tries to smile as often as her face allows. She enjoys stories with happy endings, because life is full of way too many unhappy ones.

She is currently working on the second novel in her series.
