Title: From the Wreckage
Author: Melissa Collins
Publication Date: October 21 2015
Plot: First, he saved me. I lived because he was a hero. And then he was gone. Uprooted by the fire that destroyed our home, my family moved away and I never saw David Andrews again. Then, he found me. Eighteen years later, he rescued me again – in much simpler terms, of course. By loving me, by giving me the fairy tale I’d always hoped for, he provided me with the perfect life. Now, he needs to be saved. It’s my turn to be strong, to be brave, to be valiant. When flames threaten to turn us to ashes, it’s up to me to pull us From the Wreckage.

#Ladies, hot fireman alert!! #fansself
Wah, such a wonderful plotline, array of characters, and over all message embedded together!!
This is my second Melissa Collins read, the first being an MM novel, and I have to say that I’m utterly captivated by this author’s writing. It’s not necessarily just the story of it, but it’s the underlying and driving themes that are behind it.
For me, a great book has always been ones that not only necessarily captivate and hold my interest, but more so ones that move, puzzle, awe, and make me think.
From the Wreckage, is definitely one that hit all of these piques, as it delivered what I crave in a read, but also delivered more than just a typical love story.
It had everything from romance, friendship, family, heat, suspense, sacrifice, and the inevitability of fate.
Much more, it had heart in it, which to me, is unsurpassable. It was about life and cherishing every moment of it. Relishing that every second could be your last and the value of your loved ones.
Man, I was one huge sap in this. It made me really emotional while linking it to the firemen, since the male protagonist is a fireman, and the tragic events that took place on 9/11. After all, the remembrance of that day is what inspired this, and all of the brave and selfless men and women who perished, including the authors uncle. Awww, to be brought back to the morning of my 6th grade school year and waking up to seeing the planes crashing into the World Trade Center. So, so terrifying and yet so humbling to what and who you take for granted in life.
I thank all and offer my condolences to the fallen, you will never be forgotten. I thank all of the servicemen and women that serve and protect my community and country still to today that put their lives at risk every day. Thank you. And thank you, Melissa, for this unforgettable story.

☆✮ About the Author ✮☆
Melissa Collins has always been a book worm. Studying Literature in college ensured that her nose was always stuck in a book. She followed her passion for reading to the most logical career choice: English teacher. Her hope was to share her passion for reading and the escapism of books to her students. Having spent more than a decade in front of a classroom, she can easily say that it’s been a dream.
Her passion for writing didn’t start until more recently. When she was home on maternity leave in early 2012, she read her first romance novel and her head filled with the passion, angst and laughter of the characters who she read about it. It wasn’t long before characters of her own took shape in her mind. Their lives took over Melissa’s brain and The Love Series was born.
