Promotional Blitz - It Ain't Me Babe (Hades Hangmen #1) by Tillie Cole

On sale for a limited time for only 99c

Sinning never felt so good…
A fortuitous encounter.
A meeting that should never have happened.

Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change their lives forever…

Salome knows only one way to live—under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence—the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free.

Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.

River ‘Styx’ Nash knows one thing for certain in life—he was born and bred to wear a cut. Raised in a turbulent world of sex, Harleys, and drugs, Styx, unexpectedly has the heavy burden of the Hades Hangmen gavel thrust upon him, and all at the ripe old age of twenty-six—much to his rivals’ delight.

Haunted by a crushing speech impediment, Styx quickly learns to deal with his haters. Powerful fists, an iron jaw and the skillful use of his treasured German blade has earned him a fearsome reputation as a man not to be messed with in the shadowy world of outlaw MC’s. A reputation that successfully keeps most people far, far away.

Styx has one rule in life—never let anyone get too close. It’s a plan that he has stuck to for years, that is, until a young woman is found injured on his lot… a woman who looks uncannily familiar, a woman who clearly does not belong in his world, yet a woman he feels reluctant to let go…

** A Dark Contemporary MC Romance/New Adult Novel. Contains sexual situations, violence, sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and up**

Release Day Blitz & ARC Review- Broken Pieces (Patchwork #1.5) by Toni Aleo

Title: Broken Pieces (Patchwork #1.5)
Author: Toni Aleo
Publication Date: January 24, 2017
Plot: Can be found in the Once upon midnight anthology

From the moment Oceanus von Stein, second-in-command to the Patchwork family, caught sight of Taegan Conner, daughter of the leader of the Wolves, he knew he would never love another. Only now, she has been promised in marriage to another, an arrangement to strengthen her family's alliances--and she gets no say in the matter. Can they find a way to be together, or will they both always be two Broken Pieces?

Take place during Pieces.

 My Review

☆ I received an ARC via Ardent Rose PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

Oceanus!  He was actually the character I liked most from bk1 and the one I was most curious about. His sister, the main protagonist from Pieces, kind of annoyed me.

That all said, in Broken Pieces, we find ourselves furthermore into the paranormal world and its inner turmoil.  Lots of things are going on in here from chaos, power struggles, and...... forbidden love.  Surprise, surprise.

Oceanus really has his hands tied in this story, as his kind and the werewolf shifter kind, have bad blood and Taegan-- the woman he's head over heels for, is already promised for another...   Sounds pretty complicated, right?

Anyway, without giving more out, while I did enjoy this story much more than I liked Rebecca's, it was still considered "okay" in my book.  Likable but not "wow" that's amazing.  I kept up with this series because I am a fan of Toni Aleo and love the supernatural, but, I think hockey is more of the author's forte although I do commend her for her bravery into a new book genre.

Over all, a decent read.  Just... like how I mentioned before, it was 'okay.'

 Excerpt

As I watch my father sit, he doesn’t do so smoothly. His movements are jerky before he folds his old, leathery hands together and his eyes scan the room. The scars are very prominent on his face and hands. All the experiments he did on himself are visible, along with the scar tissue that is ancient and freakish on him. While his eyes are bright, from the new pair he just obtained, he looks like death. And tired. Very tired.
Clearing his throat, he lets his gaze fall on me, and I meet it head on.
“I had a meeting with Kurt Conner.”
Kurt Conner.
The pack leader of the wolves.
My love’s father.
Clearing my throat, I sit up straighter as my forearms lay against the cool top of the old oak table. Before I can comment, though, he is going on. “He needed a loan for the wedding of Taegan.”
What?
My world stops.
I feel all eyes on me. My father is staring at me, waiting for a response, but I don’t have one.
Because what the actual fuck is going on?
Did I hear him wrong?
“A wedding?”
“Yeah, she is marrying some other pack leader’s son—you know how those wolves are. Wanting to unite families with arranged marriage and all that wolfish nonsense, I don’t know. But I didn’t give him the money until—”
“Until?” I gasp, my heart in my throat, my stomach on the ground, and every piece of me feeling as if I am falling into the fiery depths of hell because surely I am hearing my father wrong.
Taegan is to marry me.
“He offered up some information on Frank Kelley—”
“He hasn’t died yet?” Jonas asks, and I know it’s to give me time. To let me think, to let me process, but I can’t. Taegan is to marry someone else? She didn’t even tell me. We were together last night! Had she known? Was she playing me? Damn it, what the hell? How could she allow me to find out this way? I mean, I knew my time was running out, but hell, did she keep this from me? I’ve never experienced heartache or true heartbreak, but I’m pretty sure this feeling of my chest caving in and blowing up is just that.
She’s marrying someone else?
She isn’t waiting for me?
Gasping for breath as I try to push the bile back down my throat, I watch as my father shakes his head. “Not yet. And apparently, they are wanting to attack us in one more attempt to get the formula for him. They think they can kidnap Rebekah and use her as leverage.”
I feel Rebekah move as she squeaks. “Me?”
“You. So we are on high alert. Keep your eyes open, and, Rebekah, I don’t want you working at the bar until this is taken care of. I have a meeting with Frank Kelley on Friday.”
“Father, I’m fine at the bar. It’s owned by our family, most of our family is there, along with JJ. The Kelleys don’t even come that much.”
“Yes, but other families come to the bar, and that makes me uncomfortable.”
“I’m fine, I can take care of myself.”
He leans on his desk, and I don’t care about their melodrama. I can’t. Even though I know I should intervene, calm both sides—because my father is right, we need to keep Rebekah underground while this goes on—I can’t help but think of the fact that my love is marrying another. Someone other than me. How in the world is this fair? Why didn’t she fight them? She told me she was mine, and I was hers. Why didn’t she wait for me?
And then it’s like I’m being slapped back into reality.
She didn’t wait for me because we can’t.
We can’t be selfish and love each other because we have commitments to our families. Yes, we love each other. Yes, she is my world, and I’ll love only her. But just like I have to, she has to protect her family. I’m sure there is something more to this, and while I wish she had told me, I know I can’t be upset. I have to respect the process of our families.
Being the eldest, we have no choice.
We don’t get to be greedy.
Wow, I don’t even believe I’m trying to convince myself.
How could she?

Review & Excerpt Tour!- Real Good Love (Real Duet #2) by Meghan March

Real duet complete series
Title:  Real Good Love (Real Duet #2)
Author: Meghan March
Genre: Suspense
Publication Date: January 17th 2017 by Red Dress Press
Plot: From USA Today bestselling author Meghan March comes a sexy new duet with a hero you won't want to miss.

I’ve had my fair share of bad boys, but nothing prepared me for what it was like to be with a real good man.
Logan Brantley changed everything.
Somewhere along the way, what started as a fling became the best part of my life.
He makes me want all the things I’ve never had, like forever and happily ever after, but nothing worth having comes easily.
Everyone is betting on us to fail, but I’m ready to fight for this real good love.

Real Good Love is the conclusion of the Real Duet and should be read following Real Good Man.

 My Review

The concluding story of Logan and Banner, Read Good Love, was no short of great.   It did not disappoint me.  Both the plot and characters grow leaps and bounds and it had the perfect amount of rapport and steam to get me through from start to finish.

My only digress, and this is something that I've been feeling even with novel duets, is that maybe this story could have been been wrapped into one story if the author (and readers) permitted, or perhaps condensed...but, that's just me.  Perhaps I am making a fatal judgement as maybe it would have taken away or shortened the level of progress and growth of the characters... I don't know for certain.

Otherwise, everyting was fine.  My favorite part, oddly enough, was the separation of Logan and Banner.  I got to see them get on on their own and not so deeply dependent on each other like many couples in stories I read get after their meeting.

Over all, a must read!!

My Rating:
 Excerpt

I’m a woman on a mission when I step off my last flight at six o’clock at night, annoyed it took me an entire freaking day to get here since I made my plans at the last minute. As soon as I leave the rental car desk, I’m headed for my first destination. Logan’s shop.
He’s never going to know what hit him. My skirt is short, my heels are tall, and my hair, skin, and nails are perfect from the pampering I managed to sneak in this week.
I pull into the parking lot an hour and a half later, mostly because I was so busy singing along to every kick-ass female anthem on my playlist that I missed the turn and went fifteen miles in the wrong direction.
But no one needs to know that little detail.
The lights are still on, and Logan’s truck is parked in its normal spot alongside the building. No other cars remain in the lot.
I pull out my phone and switch it out of airplane mode. I told myself I kept it there all day because I was worried about the safety of my flights and obviously because of the FAA regulations, but that’s total bull.
I didn’t trust myself not to answer what must be at least a few messages from Logan. I wanted this to be a surprise. Like when Logan thought I might be pregnant, this is a discussion that needs to happen in person.
A few text messages pop up from him immediately, and they’re progressively more . . . let’s call it assertive.

MY SEXY MAN: Bruce, call me.
MY SEXY MAN: Seriously, babe. Call me.
MY SEXY MAN: CALL ME.
MY SEXY MAN: This radio silence shit will not fly. Call me, Bruce.
MY SEXY MAN: Banner Regent, don’t even try to dodge me. I know where you are, and I will come to you and show you how a real man handles this situation.

A smile spreads over my face. I’ve come to terms with a few things in the last twenty-four hours, and one of them is that I don’t care if I’m the first one to say those words I’ve been holding back. I love Logan Brantley, and I’m not going to let another day go by without telling him. To his face.
After I park, I slide out of the car, careful not to pull a Britney and flash anyone my vag because I’m going commando under this skirt, and strut my ass up to the entrance.
I push on the door that opens into the waiting room, but it doesn’t budge. Locked. Well, dammit, that’s not part of my plan. I bang on it, but no one comes. The beat of whatever rock song he’s listening to is thumping through the walls.
I pull my phone out of my wristlet and text him back.

BANNER: Open the damn door.

A response pops up in seconds.

MY SEXY MAN: What door?
BANNER: I’m waiting.

Review Blitz!- Egomaniac by Vi Keeland

EgoManiac Available now
Title:  Egomaniac
Author: Vi Keeland
Publication Date: January 16th 2017 by Everafter Romance

Plot: A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Vi Keeland

The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office.  He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.  In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients.  But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued.  Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships.  And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

 My Review

☆ I received an ARC via Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

I've been seriously loving these standalones from author Vi Keeland as of late.  She can do no wrong, I tell you.  Egomanic was surprisingly pretty funny to me and I did not expect that element whatsoever.  Usually, I'm just like,"okay, another manwhore womanizer that drops sex appeal" and that's it.  Yeah, sure, this book has that in spades but that's not all that appealed to me.  I liked the story and the characters.  I found them to be a breath of fresh air and likable.  I mean, how can you not enjoy and not find intriguing the story of "polar opposites" in both job occupation and personality?  It's a matchmade in story book history for both fun, laughs, and trouble.

Definitely, a great way to start the New Year for me.  Certainly had me giggling a lot.
